AD won that natty for sure.winning brings revenue without winning there is no Danny dollars..you’ve got it flipped.im alarmed at how many people think AD’s can’t be replaced “good AD’s”10 years ago in our horrific slump I’d say absolutely keep Danny but look at where we are today. it’s the same argument everyone in here has used but flipped..good AD’s will actually come here now..we are on fire as a program from a athletics and academic standpoint..with Randy Boyd and plowman eyeing Danny I have full confidence in Boyd and plowman to ensure this university continues to hire winners just don’t lose them over dumb s*** is my point..do you think they’ll keep Danny if we start to flop knowing he just let a national title winning coach walk?…you can’t justify that whatsoever in the same year a new stadium is being built and ticket prices are higher than they’ve ever been..believe it or not Danny has a lot of pressure we just don’t see it yet.
The money far far far offsets the costs in most cases. And don't the courts almost never rule in favor of an individual who opted out and then filed their own lawsuit because they deem the company already punished from the class action? You can opt out of the class. You don’t have to be included. Let’s face it, most people have no clue about it until they are notified. Also depending on the case, attorneys spend a bunch of money up front for costs. There’s more to it than just adding people to a lawsuit.
Great Post!I'm a Vol...unlike Tony...until I die. He left us in a lurch...so screw him. "You're either a Vol or You're not!"...using his own words against him here..HE IS NOT.
Now he will fail in this silly Guants experimental endeavor and then come back to the SEC at another school and further twist the knife in our collective guts.
If you aren't upset...so what...I am and screw everybody that don't like it. I took him at his word, I actually believed that he wanted to leave a Neyland type legacy at UT...I was fooled by his seeming sincerity.
You're either a Vol..or you're not...I am and he ain't.
Given the smoke it's likely Tony and DW didn't like each other very much and Tony may even have left because he doesn't like DW. The question what do you do about it? How would you have stopped it? He was already at the top of the pay scale. They are already spending over $100M to improve LNS. We're landing #1 classes. So what do you do? What more do you need? Despite the characterization of Tony running for the door, he sat on the decision for several days. What do you do about that? I don't know what you can unless you are willing to pay well above market, and then you just look sad and desperate. Baseball is still a business and there is a limit to what you can justify paying. It’s you bozos that have a view point of “just let a national championship coach walk” that just sounds stupid every time you open your mouth. Danny white didn’t let anyone “walk”. That was Tony Vs choice. He’s going to the MLB. It’s the only job he would have left here for. There was realistically not a thing Danny White could have done to keep Tony Vitello. Not. A. Single. Thing. No AD on this planet is keeping their coach if an MLB franchise came calling. Tony Vitello isn’t leaving because of some BS rumor about money that was supposed to go to baseball going to women’s basketball. Quit believing dumb ****. Yes women’s basketball gets more share, that’s common sense. But from a NIL perspective, Tennessee baseball gets more NIL dedicated to it than 99.9% of college baseball programs. That’s just facts. Did Tony V want more? I’m sure he did, you need to always want more. That’s not why Tony took an MLB job though, if you think that’s you are beyond delusional.
Let’s not get crazy. We have had a nothing baseball program until Tony and he brought us our first ever national championship in the history of our program. To say the next guy will win multiple and be as good as Tony is crazy. He is the greatest coach ever at Tennessee for baseball and one of the best ever in college baseball history. I know you want to be positive but anyone that we hire will be a step down.Don’t let anyone tell you the next guy can’t do what Tony did. Tony may be 1/1 from an overall package/perosnality, but the next guy will compete and win natties for us too. I’m 100% confident in that.
Sure. . . but he already works here. Isnt that something that should've already been done?Due diligence and deniability. You use the firm to do background checks and the legwork. DW makes the hire. If something is found on a background two years later, he says, “that’s what we used the firm to find out.”
Coach Orgeron out there in the media openly saying he's ready to get back to work in whatever capacity comes open and mentioned DC specifically...
I'd take that guy back in a heartbeat as DC just for his fire and dedication alone... Go ahead and give "3rd or 4th and Banks" his pink slip on Monday after we see KY produce their largest offensive showing this season against our pathetic defense...
Sidenote----- When asked what would have happened if Kiffin and crew had stayed at TN, he responded "It would have been the wild wild west!!"
And how many years from now will that be? I don't know if you realize this, but unless DW hires Elander, we are about to see half our team jump in the portal and our "#1 recruiting class" will evaporate before your eyes... these kids came to play for TV and Elander... don't kid yourself...Don’t let anyone tell you the next guy can’t do what Tony did. I bet the money is drying up after his divorce settlement a few months ago.Coach Orgeron out there in the media openly saying he's ready to get back to work in whatever capacity comes open and mentioned DC specifically...
