FINALLY!!!! The SEC has fined Texas A&M $50k for faking an injury. Hopefully this happens more until this crap stops.

50K!! I never expected the fine to be that high. Wow.

Can’t believe they haven’t gigged the Vols on the PAT injury bit. Happened vs Arky, and I told the room which lineman would go down injured before the snap.
only happens if the player goes down after the ball is set by the refs for the next play.

considering its a PAT, we are pretty safe on this iteration of the rule.

Once the ball is set, I don’t understand why the sideline doesn’t call time out, they are going to be charged with one or given a penalty or both.

Part of the problem with the way the Vols are utilizing the PAT injury, is that everyone benefits. TV gets an extra commercial, the refs get a break, the opposing team’s offense gets a full break as well as our defense gets a full break.
These injuries only occur when we’ve scored quickly to give our defense a full break to prepare for the next series. When there would not be a TV timeout.

Any sport that has natural dead balls should just play on when an “injury” occurs. That would end it.

If it’s MMA or boxing let the ref stop it, but otherwise, you should treat flopping the same way as when 3 year old tantrums: first ignore, then warn, then a penalty.

Also, teams have to get their injured players off the field on a clock unless it’s clearly spine related.
