He thinks he is the only one who knows football. @LittleVol likely thinks you are dumb.OK. Matthews isn't the only one dropping the ball. Why you are singling him out is puzzling.
And yes, I absolutely believe he would not be better than Turrentine or Farooq after not playing that position for over 2 years. Boo Carter has played safety most of his career, was an elite recruit, and he isn't better at this time either.
You know how dumb you look so often? Smith dropped 3 of the first 4 passes thrown to him this season and still is one of the leading WR in the country in drops, Williams from Bama is also, guess maybe they suck and should have played safety or another position. Lord knows they will never make it in the NFL as WR’s with those dropsies. By the way, the top 3 last year in SEC (one was top in NCAA) was Smith drafted and playing for Jets, Williams and Brazzel.Boo is not about coaching. It’s buy-in. He has other issues.
The other guys ain’t about coaching either. They’re just not adequate for this level as starters.
Chris Gamble back in 2002 started play both WR and CB for Ohio State. MIDSEASON He finally started at CB and WR. CB is much harder to play than safety. He went on to hold 1st rnd pick Andre Johnson to 50 yards receiving in the National Championship game.
I’m saying that Matthews has been playing safety his whole life. He practices against them everyday. He hasn’t forgotten how to play football. He just has trouble catching the football. He’s always had trouble. This isn’t a new thing. He’s just a starter now so we see it more often.
If the coaches recruited him as a WR and told him he would have an opportunity at WR Moa needs to be at WR. Lying to kids in the days of social media is the surest way to get none.WR room next year:
Staley
Matthews
Smith
RadJax
Dodson
Jefferson
Keys
King
Bey
Moa and Wyatt need to play DB
Returning DBs assuming Hood and McCoy go to draft, and Boo transfers:
Gibson
Redmond
Wright
Poteat
Farooq
Beasley
Walton
Yeah it's already been said they plan to spend big for the secondary in the portal. That notion also has me thinking will Banks be safe or will he still be encouraged to take a HC gig. His group (Safety) has underperformed since he's been here. Overall even worse than the Pruitt and Butch years. And we all have been critical of his play calling philosophy on the backend.Moa will be a WR. DB room will have a ton of portals

If he is besties with Heupel, he is safe forever. Heupel takes ZERO proactive actions WRT his staff. Banks, Halzle, Elarbee, etc? All besties and all absolutely safe, no matter what. Heupel is gonna ride this train as long as he can, but he isn't going to do anything that requires proactivity.
JMHO.
I think he will see injury, and attrition hurt them. Safety is more important than what theyre paying. That will change.Perhaps Heup is more pragmatic than fans. Everyone wanted GE gone and look at the product now. Wanted Halzle gone after last year and look at it now. Doesn’t mean he should want to keep Banks but he’s not making decisions without looking at complete picture.
Yeah, because Pope, Halzle, and Elarbee have certainly proven those fans right and Josh wrong for keeping them.If he is besties with Heupel, he is safe forever. I think we see more coaching turnover than people expect. Lots of contracts due and some aren’t being signed…Yeah it's already been said they plan to spend big for the secondary in the portal. Sounds like leverage to ask for more $. A lot of games played in recruiting in NIL days especially with some programs desperate enough to pay recruits to visit. Michigan State has rich donors, but the fan base is not happy with their coach and that's putting it mildly. To Michigan state? I’d hope not much concern.
Time will tell, but overall their performance has been abysmal.Yeah, because Pope, Halzle, and Elarbee have certainly proven those fans right and Josh wrong for keeping them.
God, this fan base says some of the dumbest **** in order to practice quantum negativity.
