No idea who FW is, but at this point, I don't really care who they hire. No matter who it is, it's a step down. UT caught lightning in a bottle with Vitello. Odds of that happening again are slim and none. Considering a guy like White is making the decision, I'm certain slim got on that plane with Tony Vitello and left town, too.

If it’s Elander, I think Frank would stay and you move forward as close to business as usual as you could given the circumstances. You also likely don’t lose anyone on the roster and it gives you the best chance of keeping the recruiting class together and on the same trajectory.

Elander is basically Tony experience wise when he got hired. Maybe even more highly thought of.

I’m terrified DW will want to have nothing to do with the CTV staff though and wants to bury that era. I get the vibe that he thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room, and since media, fans, and current and former players want Josh, he will pivot in another direction.

The roster might be kept intact for this one year due to the rules currently in place, but come the next portal, there's bound to be a very, very large big orange presence. As for the '26 and '27 class commitments....best of luck trying to control those. That will be akin to herding cats. We're headed for some very rough waters over the next 12-24 months.

DW is going to be one of the worst things to ever happen to school. I am hoping Boyd and Plowman are monitoring how he has botched this.

If he doesn’t hire Elander, which is what I want, then I think he should hire Dan Fitzgerald from Kansas. He’s completely turned that program around similar to Tony’s early days at Tennessee.

Yes! I’d love to hear preacherman’s take on Elander getting hired as HC and having Kirby take over Elander’s previous spot. Man I’d be thrilled with that.

The fan base will rally behind Elander, the players will rally behind him and probably the majority of the recruits.
Surely that has to be weighed in the process, right?

I'd be shocked if Elander is the choice especially if the rumors of a sour relationship between White and Vitello are true. Why would White keep guys that were and likely still are loyal friends of Vitello? White knows his name is mud with a substantial portion of this fan base right now. He knows he's going to be raked over the coals on social media so why not clean house and start fresh since there's no way to avoid the wrath of the fans anyway? And if he were inclined to go in that direction, it would have already been done IMO. No, it won't be Elander.

He’s a “businessman” isn’t he?
If it’s a smart business decision, who cares who they’re friends with.
If hired, Elander would be “his guy.”

I think it would cool things down just a bit with the fans with an Elander hire considering the majority want him to take over. Elander had ALOT to do with Tony’s success here and Tony didn’t shy away from letting everyone know that. It’s a home run hire, no pun intended.

Needs to be Elander, and he may be able to coexist with Danny better than Tony simply due to having a more reserved personality. If Danny's dead set on cutting ties with Tony's guys I like the guy from Coastal.
