I would suggest aligning what you say and what you mean then.

You verbatim said that he is taking this MLB role as a “placeholder” for a different college position in a couple years.

In regards to the point you say you’re making here, I pointed out the same earlier today. TV has nothing to lose by trying for a pro job.

In a way it is a placeholder, no? He knows if it doesn't work out, he doesn't have to worry. He has limited options of where he can go now at the college level.

I have a hard time believing Danny White didn't care about keeping Tony. Danny White likes winning and he knew Tony was a winner. I just choose to believe it's nobody's fault as Tony got an opportunity to chase a dream. I left some great jobs with great friends for a better opportunity and it wasn't anybody's fault. It just happens sometimes. I agree you are way more balanced than many on this board which is why I stated in my original post to you as you seemed a little more wound up than normal. All good.

Lol, I'm not wound up at all. You are welcome to believe that it was all hunky dory and Tony couldn't pass up the opportunity of his childhood dreams but the evidence says otherwise.

I agree. We know DW is 100% about the money. I don’t watch/care about MLB but was a fan of the Vols BB. It's a crap shoot whether it will be close to the same level.

I can think of $100M reasons that he needs to get this right.

Obviously he doesn’t have to worry, but this is by no means a placeholder.

Coaches don’t go into big moves like this thinking about failure. I can promise you TV is also not wired that way.
