Tony Vitello to SF Giants (Confirmed)

Those funds were raised because of TV. You think Danny could have raised those funds for Todd Raleigh?
Do you think they would have even be asked by the idiot that hired TV in the first place? Money has went through the roof since DW was brought on, that is one of his jobs, same way fata$$ Fulmer sat on his rear-end and ended up hiring Jeremy Pruitt who couldn’t put a whole sentence together!
Also again, are you to dumb to know that even with all the success the baseball program has had, they still lost 2.3 million last year? So either you huge baseball fans just aren’t putting your money where your mouth is, OR the ROI isn’t there for the sport. That doesn’t even take into account the 100+ million to upgrade the stadium! So your love for TV speaks volumes when you don’t give enough to actually make the sport at least neutral in revenue and spending!

Find me a baseball program that produces a profit every year. Bet you can't.

That is what is frustrating me is that people keep thinking his relationship with DW is the main factor for him leaving, or that DW was pushing Tony out the door. Neither of that is true.

While I'm sure DW is not exactly the most pleasant human being to work with, I think people are not considering that TV is absolutely no walk in the park either. This is the same man that confronted his old boss over a recruiting incident that happened a year ago in public after a baseball game that delved into a shouting match.

I don’t think the frustration is about what percentage of the decision is about Danny White, it’s that an environment in our own athletic department was created that even contributed to the decision at all. Your own athletic department should be 0% of the reason why you choose to leave a job.

You think LSU, Texas, or Arkansas create an environment for the baseball program that frustrates a hall of fame coach and factors into his decision to leave? It doesn’t.

Revenue Sharing:

Tony V and baseball was getting shorted on revenue share - Danny White admitted this in his presser.

"5% to women's bball..... 5% to other sports of which 750k going to baseball."

Man what a terrible week for UT athletics. I can almost stomach a loss to Bama, but this hurts on another level.

All I can say is that press conference by Danny White was not a good look and is only going to stoke the fires more that there was an issue between Tony and the AD or AD White had an axe to grind against Tony V and didn’t do anything to keep him around/pushed him off the ledge. What a poorly constructed and presented mess.
I think it's basically been confirmed at this point that there were issues between DW and TV. DW, who runs an incredibly tight ship, openly admitted he didn't really talk to TV as much as other coaches, and that he dealt with him through another person in the admin. That speaks volumes, especially when the coach in question is the most successful and popular coach on your campus.

This is one of those deals when both sides of the debate are correct. There were issues between TV and DW, and it was probably a "it takes two to tango" kind of situation. DW's presser didn't make him look good. Given the prestige of the job he was offered, TV was probably taking the job even if he and DW were super tight. Everybody is probably right, lol.

Back from the future. He is the relevant excerpt of E’s job interview:

DW: What would you ask of the AD to help you succeed at your position?

JE: The necessary support and financial resources to be able to compete with the upper echelons of college baseball in the new, ever-evolving landscape of Revenue Sharing and NIL.

DW: Thank you for coming in. It was a pleasure to meet you, Mr Ehrlinger.

There are only 4 programs in the history of the sport to turn a profit and they are inconsistent at best at doing that. You clearly don’t understand the landscape of college baseball.

It's funny that last year when rev share was coming down the pike, Ben Mckee said on Swain's show "There will be tough decisions made, and I don't think the "Everything school" moniker will survive the rev share implementation."

A year later we have rev share, and lost the best coach on campus.

If Jim Schlossnagle got an offer to manage the Chicago Cubs, he'd take it in a nanosecond.

LSU's approach to dividing up revenue sharing amongst the programs is absolutely frustrating people. Baseball has been put behind WBB and Gymnastics in the pecking order.

Texas just hired a guy who left for a better opportunity. It happens. I think people do not realize the personality Tony is and why he is taking this job. Sure, you have a fair point about the AD, but I think even if the relationship between Tony and DW is awesome, he's going to take this chance.

Also, I think it's completely unfair to assume everything is because of DW for the relationship when we have seen Tony is not an easy personality to deal with.

Pushed him off the ledge...to a professional career. But sure, Tennessee baseball is bigger than the San Fransisco Giants.

Such an angry man. Sorry if you’re in Danny’s fan club. Yes, I realize the baseball team lost money. I also realize everything outside of men’s basketball and football lose money. I also realize you got a NC coach, you don’t hire a subordinate to deal with them so you can isolate yourself from your coaches. Also when calling someone “to dumb”, the correct usage is “too”. Learn the correct usage of two, too, and to before calling someone dumb.

And you know this how? You don’t have the slightest idea what was or wasn’t delegated to assistant coaches. Not all head coaches are great at delegating and not every assistant coach is capable of being a head coach which is why a search absolutely needs to take place
Oh yea you proving your point, beat your chest a little harder. I DW's plan is at this point and neither do you.
