Tony Vitello to SF Giants (Confirmed)

Again, he was second highest paid coach in the sport (second only to a guy with two natties) and $105 million dollar stadium renovation. Also multiple top recruiting classes. Nearly every sport doing better than when he got here. Mega investments in all sports. Record revenue.

But please, use your feelings for the basis of your argument. A day before the original Giants news broke Danny could do no wrong.
Danny Dollars gave more rev share to women's basketball than to the baseball program who was lead by a coach who won a Natl. Chsp. You and your ilk who continue to praise the AD have a warped view of college athletics. AD's are bureaucrats who fund raise ("bean count") and handle compliance issues - they don't win games!

I think he's going to be surprised how little there is in the way of elite coaches who want it. I'm sorry, without Tony, we're not Vanderbilt, LSU or Arkansas. We're much closer to Missouri and Kentucky.

You are dead on.

Tony isn't viewed nearly as negative by other coaches as some people believe.

And ALL coaches talk to each other. A LOT.

What kind of reference do you think the current staff will give if they're blown out...

Coach Elander has overwhelming support from the present team and past players. He's the logical choice (and correct choice IMO) to hand the reins to. Unfortunately, I don't believe White will do so. I'm hearing Kentucky coach, Mangione.

Not just NO…F NO! He shouldn’t be on any team’s list, not even Kentucky.

Yep, DW is not going with Elander. Interview answers way too obvious.
Why would you not want to interview multiple candidates? I know you and everyone else wants Elander, but that doesn't mean they can't do their due diligence and see who is interested in the job. Just because they interview others doesn't mean that Elander has no chance.

There were problems between the two. However, Tony was tired of the what NIL has become.
I am in no way privy to Tony’s thoughts here, but could totally see this being the case. The landscape is different in football, of course, but NIL is why Saban got out too. If there were tensions internally about Tony wanting baseball players getting more money, that would be the flip side of the same coin. There are right answers in college sports right now. Everybody has their hand out for more, and I would imagine Tony was in a tough spot in some regards because of wanting to be able to tell these kids what they want to hear (more $$), on the one hand, and being constrained by the reality that baseball is still always going to be a “non-revenue” sport (which is a misnomer, but let’s stipulate that it refers to a program that costs more than it brings in). I could totally see that wearing on him, especially if there was some unhealthy tension between him and Danny White.

What's your message to Volnation who isn't happy?

" I don't know. We won a national championship and a lot of games. We should be happy for him. This isn't a sad day. It's a proud day."

Weak response to the fans. Came across as defensive, didn’t give any assurance about commitment to the program. Clown.
