Where do you want the next Vols coach to come from?

If Frank is interim than it won’t be Elander in my opinion. If it was going to be him you would just do it now.
I Think Frank is the logical choice, reassure the pitching recruits and he has the most experience of the two. We need to hold on to the kids we have and the recruits.

Baseball guys, why is Elander the overwhelming consensus here? Nobody ever agrees this much on VN.

Because Elander is similar to Tony in the sense that he’s a young, relatable, and relentless recruiter that is every bit as responsible for the talent surge on campus as Tony. He’s also the hitting coach responsible for all the home runs and power we’ve seen these last 8 years. He’s the logical choice.

100% and keep Frank!

As has been said, hitting coach and OC in a sense.

Also has recruiting fingerprints on every player on that roster.

Best chance and retaining roster as well as program staff as a whole.

He stayed in his role when he could have had chances at multiple quality HC jobs the last couple years.

Beloved by anyone even remotely near the program. Loves Knoxville too.

I agree. Frank doesn’t want to be a HC and I don’t think he wants to move either but I could be wrong. 100% on Elander and recruiting,…it’s the best chance to retain the class.

Elander is the hitting coach and a big part of why we have been so sucessfull and it was only a matter of time before he was given a head coach spot somewhere.
Because Elander has been talked about as the next young assistant to get their own gig at other SEC schools. This is a no brainer.

Elander seems logical. I’d be happy I think.
I know we don’t like opposing conference coaches but Ok has a good coach as does Fl. The ACC has several very good coaches. Stanford has a consistent CWS coach.
If not Elander I’m looking for that consistent series participant. If we can pay Tony the highest salary we can afford the best. Tenn is now a destination job.
