I normally don’t do this, only on rare occasions and I don’t claim to be an insider, but I talk to a lot of people.
And I can tell you with 100% certainty, that several players, some prominent, have already said “if Josh is their next coach, they’ll stay in Knoxville, because they love Knoxville. If Tennessee brings in someone else, the portal is definitely an option”
Tennessee better not F this up and they better stop the bleeding quickly and announce Josh Elander as the next coach, tomorrow!
And they better find a way to keep Frank Anderson from riding off into the sunset and staying on to ease the transition.

To clear this up, they players have been saying this over the last day or two, as a hypothetical to Tony taking the Giants job.
And yes, I’m still pissed!!

Let me add IF DW goes out a finds a Head Coach that he wants. I guarantee you their will be plenty of Revenue coming to the Baseball program..DW doesn't want egg on his face and if the outside hire is successful he will say "see we are okay".. jmo..

Perfect example is Lady Vols basketball. Before Kellie Harper was fired very little NIL but when DW hired Kim Caldwell money appeared..👀

I hear you CW, and it is a very sad day. With Tony’s competitive nature and the fact that he had already reached the pinnacle of college ball here, it’s hard to imagine he would turn down the opportunity to coach in the pros no matter what could be done on our end. I would much rather he leave for that than go to stupid LSU or Arky. Just trying to look for the silver lining here.

He's getting egg on his face regardless..... boosters aren't gonna give him anything for baseball if they want Elander and he bucks them

Wow, go out and rake leaves and come back to the announcement. I knew he was gone. Kicker is, I can’t imagine Elander not getting the job. Thats just crazy talk surely. And if Josh doesn’t get it, what about Frank? Will he keep Frank as pitching coach? Frank will prolly retire. Ugh, so sad. Always drama in Tennessee athletics.
