Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I see Tony taking a payout as him taking a gamble on himself. The Giants are already taking a gamble on him, you can't expect them to pay premium on something unproven at that level. I bet when the details come out this was a compromise for the Giants to pay his buyout since the original report said they wanted him to pay it.

Doesn’t matter when your boss is doing dumb s** like that to protect his own hire. Tony earned everything it should have never been touched period! Part of Danny’s job is helping with NIL.if he felt like they needed more then he should have gotten off his ass and talk to donors.I don’t blame Tony at all.
What are you even talking about? You sound like a summarization of every random, unfounded message board rumor over the last 5 days all rolled into one paragraph. 😂

Taking a pay cut? Something smells like rotten @Weezer garbage.
Could also be that he's a single guy approaching his 50s that doesn't think he has the time to achieve some personal life stuff outside of baseball with the time he has to invest in recruiting? I know a lot of folks are going to run with rumors of conflict between TV and DW, but there could be some very understandable personal reasons TV has for taking the SF job.

I don’t know. I think what they do with Elander will tell us a lot, though.
I'm really surprised, and not upset that he's gone. I dont get it. By all accounts everything looked good. It feels like Tony was making demands, and demands werent met. And he took a paycut. I think TN made a business decision. I dont think Tony made the best decision, but only he knows that. I feel like he had everything here. But, wish him luck.

The thing he didn’t have here was the opportunity to manage a MLB team

It's a good time to tell you... Top choice as of now for Braves Manager is Danny Lehmann . Dave Roberts right hand man on Dodgers staff...

You seriously believe that? DW may have allocated more of the House money to LV basketball, but I guarantee you he was supporting as much NIL money to baseball as he could. I don't get why people want to pick sides.

DW has to manage our situation- not Arkansas or LSU. UT baseball is getting great support- $109 million in fact.

some people, believe it or not, have enough money--and this is wild-- actually want to pursue their passions as far as they can take them, money be damned! Francis Ford Coppola last year spent $136,000,000 of HIS OWN money on a passion project that made only $14.4m for a loss of over a hundred million dollars. Some people want to do things with their life, not make as much money as possible... crazy I know...

i say congrats to Tony for living out 99.9999% of baseball player & coach's dreams. hope they win a world series. he left our team literally at the top
