I will tell you this: I had more fun watching that entire National Championship Season in baseball than I've had watching football since I started keeping up religiously with them in around 2000. I've enjoyed several other baseball seasons more than any of those football seasons. It's only baseball. . .
How is their less pressure to win? They just fired a manager that left the Padres to take his dream job with the Giants. He is a former Giant catcher, 3 time manager of the year and they fired him after two seasons. And not just to any MLB team - he went to maybe the most storied MLB franchise, in one of the premier US cities, with one of the most iconic stadiums in pro sports, and it’s a time where it will be fairly low pressure on him to win immediately. This is a no brainer decision for him, it doesn’t compute to me how people are mad at DW or TV over this. It would’ve been like Pearl leaving for the Boston Celtics or Heupel leaving for the Patriots, except with much less immediate pressure to win. It’s a dream situation for TV and one that no one with a brain would pass up.
