The Atlanta Braves

He still needed to go. Both can be true.

Dude was propped up by excellent OC’s and when he stopped hitting on those, sh!t hit the fan.
I thought he coached pretty well overall. The clock management vs the Patriots that one year with taking penalties was a stroke of genius. But he kept promoting his buddies who were trash and wasn't willing to fire them when it was beyond clear they were not suited for the job. So it was time to go. J-Rob did him no favors though.

Our drafting after 2019 has probably been the worst in the league. 2 decent OLs, 1 good safety, a decent DT, a league average CB, and practically nothing else of real note. Hopefully these last 2 classes show out as they get more experience/better coaching.

Lombard has gotten some mention for being pretty analytical. So immediately I approve. You would certainly assume Lehmann is also, coming from the Dodgers. I would be happy with either one.

Don't know enough about Flaherty's philosophy, but my initial reaction is "meh."

He doesn't have an offer from San Fran?!?!?!?!

I trust Stoerner, but good Lord that seems crazy.
Yep. That's why I posted it here. I couldn't believe it.

I can't believe SF hasn't just walked away at this point. It got leaked Saturday, presumably by Tony or someone in his camp, before they even made him an offer (if Stoerner is correct). Now it's turned into this circus with TV seemingly stringing them along for 5+ days and also talking with his current employer about getting a better deal.

Maybe the whole thing really is just a ruse by TV to get sweeteners from UT. I still have doubts about that; this seems like a job he'd consider no matter how happy he was here, but on Saturday I didn't think we'd be sitting here Wednesday lunch with this still in limbo.

“To be clear, money gets players. His biggest concern revolves around that. Mechanically he wants to be on equal footing with the other top programs. This has nothing to do with an ax he wants to grind with women’s basketball. The net effect of what Arky did got them more NIL. How we get on equal footing isn’t his concern. He just doesn’t want to play poker with no chips.“

Also from SF

Recruiting isn’t an issue.

Getting the right tier of players onto campus and not drafted is. I don’t think that’s a money game but Tony would know better than me.

So basically. He doesn't want a repeat of last years team.
