It’s been reported he met with the team after today’s scrimmage and told them he has not made a decision yet. He's gone, you don't let it drag on this long and stay. If you have one foot out the door... step the other one out and go.
It's not a negotiation w/ Tennessee we are waiting on... He's holding out for a Media Announcement like mentioned earlier.
I just realized that if you zoom in, there’s a grand total of two people out on the single level porch.Good memory. It’s close. Here’s my photo from his very first game as the head coach. As you can tell, I was in the upper bowl with nobody around me.

No kidding. When I first started posting here in the baseball forum in 2019 we were probably 200k or more posts behind the LV forum. Now look at us - 110k more posts than the LV forum. Nuts!Who would have believed 10-15 years ago that we’d be in the middle of football season and all anyone wants to talk about is Tennessee baseball?!?! That shows how great and how important Tony Vitello is for this program.

Have you sent Carla in to negotiate him staying? No way he has success in SF without the slump buster. My three Tony Vitello tweets today have been viewed, collectively, over 300k times. Seems there are a lot of people who care about Tony V. I'm sure I'm blacklisted for the one about revenue sharing (eeek).
As a lifelong giants fan growing up in the Bay Area and proud vol alum I’m truly conflicted … I feel the only way my giants have an honest chance is the owners opening their checkbooks like the dodgers… but at the same time I hate rooting against Tony possibly landing a dream job .. though it would hurt losing him from UT …how many of us would give anything to get to have a job on the sidelines of a professional sports org .. I know I would .. it’s a crap situation either way for me![]()
It would be hard to turn down. It’s everyone’s dream to play at the highest level. And this isn’t the Marlins or another organization where you don’t have a chance. He could win big there. If it goes well, he could be the first coach/manager to win both a Ccollege and MLB World Series. If it doesn’t, he could name his college job again in 2-3 years.Storied organization but he's gotta weight the pros and cons IMO. After California taxes he'll likely be making less than he's making in Knoxville, will be playing over double the games that he coaches as a college coach, will be relying on a GM to build him a team and give him talent, I would say that the Giants fan support or any MLB fanbase support isn't the same as some college programs such as Tennessee, LSU, etc. Pros are that you get a chance to win a World Series and you're managing at a history rich organization who, in the past, has been able to build talented teams.
I remember a month ago when his name was being casually linked to the Braves and I was 100% against it. I love the Braves, but I love Tennessee athletics more.
Thinking about him coaching another college team makes me feel dead inside ngl.It would be hard to turn down. It’s everyone’s dream to play at the highest level. IF Tony leaves, we all know it's @MAD 's fault. I say we burn the witch.
Reality is, demand still outweighs supply. If I were consulting with the athletic department, the first advice out of my mouth would be to raise prices. This: our fanbase wants to spend somebody else's money so that we can have elite, championship winning success while also somehow still keeping tickets at Neyland "cheap." Meanwhile, you have trailer park trash in Alabama giving their last nickel and dime to the Gump's NIL fund... willingly, mind you!
