Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Nope. Everyone was saying the same nonsense last year. You do know we play both Vandy and Oklahoma don’t you. If we get to 10-2 then they each have at least 2 losses. Vandy and Missouri play this Saturday and one of them has to lose that game. We win out and we are easily in. Winning out is the risk.
Go back and read the original post you responded to and MAYBE you'll understand why I said we need Oklahoma and Vandy to win this weekend. We don't face Mizzou or OM, so we can't hang losses on them.

I’m just saying that if we win out we are in regardless of what else happens. If you look at the schedules of all the teams in the hunt many of them play each other therefore one team loses every one of those games. If we win out we are in. The chances of us winning out are extremely low. I haven’t analyzed the schedules but it’s virtually impossible for there to be more than 4 SEC Teams to finish better than 10-2 with all the teams playing each other. We would also have the head to head advantage over 2 of the teams if we win out. I agree if Vandy and Oklahoma win this week it will help our strength of schedule and potential seeding. We win out and we would be one of the hottest teams in the country. Likelihood of winning out is probably less than 20%.

TAMU and Bama are probably in. Unless UGA loses to Texas or GA Tech, they're probably in. Now, look at Ole Miss's schedule after they play Oklahoma this weekend. Nothing but cupcakes. They don't play Bama this year. So if they win this weekend, that's 4 SEC teams likely to finish ahead of us. Do you think more than 4 SEC teams make it in? I don't. I don't think the Big 10 or the other conferences allow it.

We just disagree and that’s okay. Hard to fathom the 17th ranked team wins 5 in a row to end the season and doesn’t make a 12 team playoff. I’m way more concerned about actually winning out as that seems 100 times more unlikely than actually winning out and not getting in. All good as I will drop it.
