What other message boards are saying (Kentucky pre-game edition)

Thanks for the added perspective...always appreciate fans of other teams coming on here and providing civil, reasonable conversation.

BTW - if your screen name alludes, I was still a resident of the Commonwealth and that 96 UK basketball team was the most dominant one I can ever recall. 34-2...incredible.

Yeah, that was my senior year, went to all those games and didn't really realize how rare and special those teams were.

Regarding the sorry state of Football, the local panic now is that they would fire Stoops and replace him with the long-time DC. I love that guy, but people will lose their minds. Everyone has their heart set on Sumrall or Will Stein. I have my heart set on zeroing out rev share to WBB, Softball, VB, and Baseball and putting it into football.

Having Vandy and IU get in playoff talk isn't helping Stoops. I'm grateful for him but just like with Cal, the unwillingness to change is going to sink him.

And just like that, I feel better about our program. There definitely needs to be some changes made, but this just shows how far we have come. Not too long ago, we were in the same place they are in now.
We’re in a place now where we’re pissed off bc we Should’ve beaten UGA and gave the game away vs Bama. 5-6years ago we were happy just to keep it close. There’s a massive difference from where we were to where we are. I feel like a lot of people forget that part of things (not meaning you).

I did not do a Alabama post game edition, because I hate them and personally did not want to hear anything they had to say.

-Great, what I always dreamed of, losing to two UT's back to back at home.

-This is just what we needed, losing a heartbreaker to Texas and then getting crushed by a pissed off Tennessee team.

-Is it basketball season yet?

-Stoops has got to go, he'll prove it even more on Saturday night.

-Tennessee will come into Lexington on Saturday night and run circles around this lost team.

-Tennessee by 20 plus, place your bets folks.

-At least the Texas game was entertaining, this one will not be.

-Tennessee is light years better on offense than Texas, we'll all be turning this one off early.

-I think Saturday night will be a good night to clean out my sock drawer.

-Vols will hammer us and my lifelong hate for them will grow even more just like The Grinch's heart.

-Wake me up when football season is over.

-I really hate Tennessee, but it won't matter. Vols by 80.

-I believe we can catch them off guard by running inside zone all night. That'll show em Stoops.

-Fans should just boycott the games to let the administration know we are tired of the coaching staff and need to look elsewhere because stoops is not the man to lead us to a playoff, he's had 13 years to make us relevant, we a couple good seasons but the rest were mediocre. If coaches like Curt Cignetti and Clark Lea can turn bottom of the league teams into potential playoff teams, sure we can find a better coach than what we have now, needs to be done this year!!!!!!

-Tennessee has our number, plus you already know that the crooked & corrupt SEC refs will give them every break possible so that Tennessee can beat us again…..like a drum, as usual.

-The stadium will be primarily orange. Get used to this until Stoops is canned.

-We are the absolute worst team in The SEC and we have the absolute cheapest tickets in The SEC. It'll be a Vol take over. Pathetic.

-Everyone is checked out. Do us a favor SEC and suspend the rest of our season.
I appreciate you not showing Bama post-game. Kinda feel bad for them (Kentucky) lol. But **** them just as much as Georgia, Florida, Bama, and Vanderbilt.

Biggest issue with that stadium is for some reason it just holds in cold air. I swear we could play in Lexington in September and it would cold inside of that stadium.
It used to be even worse before they added some seating in the end zones. I remember when it looked like a giant high school stadium with large grandstands on each side and open in the end zones. Wind would whip through the end zones and across the field length-wise making it even colder than it is now.

Of course Lexington will be orange. But man...that base is broken. You almost feel bad for Stoops. He's always had good enough defenses to keep them competitive but his offense is stuck in the 90s. Lots of bad luck with terrible OCs and portal QBs. Still, we all know the KY game is all about possessions. Got to make them count because theyll milk every ounce of the clock. Watching KY on offense is punishment for the eyes.

I don’t trust this UT team to beat anyone in the SEC handily…..except UK lol. They usually play us tough in Lexington, but lose in the end. This may be the first Vol blowout win in Lexington since 2015. I see UT scoring often in this one. UK, not so much.

“ I believe we can catch them off guard by running inside zone all night. That'll show em Stoops.”

I laughed at this at work. Stoops is so hard headed and even on the rare occasions he doesn’t coach “scared” he’ll still make dumb decisions like running it inside three or four times against a talented Texas front.

Stoops really thought it made more sense to run it up the middle repeatedly instead of trusting the QB (who wasn’t bad in that game and had led them to the tying FG) or running outside. His play-calls reminded me of James Franklin or his OC opting to run it up the hit three times in a row against Ohio State. Stoops is stubborn and just a fool sometimes.

The thing is there are king to be so many openings this year and he has such a big buyout. Will they fire him? I think he deserves it but there will be a lot of competition for coaches.

Their current OC was a bad hire, but I also think Stoops meddles in the offense regardless of the OC. Like Jimbo and others, he is too stubborn to adjust. The dumb play calls at the goal line in OT were classic Stoops. As you wrote, his offense is stuck in the nineties. Plus, they are absolutely atrocious at finishing games against good teams.

Stoops deserves to be fired, idk if he will.
