Jay Graham Arrested

Pretentious? LOL dude had the intent of hooking up with what he thought was a juvenile. That's gross anyway you look at it. If me thinking it's gross makes me pretentious, color me guilty.
Yeah. Pretending to know when her age was disclosed based on a news article that does not say when it was given, other than before the money exchange.

So it was disclosed, and the dumbf*** still handed over the money?

You are a certain kind of special
I hate to tarnish whatever honorary badge the nice folks gave you down at the precinct, but they don’t accept underage people at the police academy.

Maybe you identify as a K-9, “Mr. Pronouns”?

Help me? Screw you. I’m not saying this isn’t wrong. I’m a father and a husband to a wife who was sexually assaulted.
Then you of all people should understand my position. If not, I have no words. I will pray for your wife that her scars will heal, especially the ones that cannot be seen.

I have a daughter. As soon as she’s 18 she’s free to do what she wants. Hopefully I’ve guided her well enough. I’ll continue to do so until I die and she has a family of her own.

Biologically women can procreate well before 16. Yes because of hormones and other cultural stimuli (porn) women are maturing physically much quicker than even 30 years ago. When I was in Virginia 20 + years ago, I was 19 and this girl that was built like she was in her 20s gave me her phone number. I asked how old she was later on and said she was turning 16 lol. I knew she wasn’t a cop because she was working the McDonald’s drive thru. But as soon as she told me that I stopped talking to her.
Nobody would have known anything. What we do when nobody watches matters. Do you agree?

We live in the culture that we live in. The culture I support by staying in America. And 18 is the age of universal consent. 16 in some places if the person is no more than 2 years older.

What Jay did was wrong. I hate it, but he’s guilty.

My issue on the entrapment thing is that the crime itself in this situation is imaginary. According to the news article, the girl wasn’t 16; The make believe 16 year old is a metro police officer. While these men may have intended to do wrong, they did not.
if you got caught up in a child sex sting (even if it was imaginary) it's almost a given that it wasnt your first attempt to have sex with a real minor. my guess is that when the cops dig into his past more is gonna come out.

Not to get overly technical but there are plenty of states in the US where the age of consent is 16, regardless of how old the other person is. For example, in Georgia, an 80 year old could legally have consensual sex with a 16 year old. 18 still applies when it comes to prostitution charges though.

So what is your recommendation for first time offenders.. Try on people who are not prostitutes? 🤨

That is a most ridiculous assertion.

my guess is that when the cops dig into his past more is gonna come out.

This second sentence sounds like an instance when the police fabricate a crime to circumvent the fourth amendment.

except the police have not fabricated any crime at all. just because they set up a sting doesn't make what he did legal. its VERY illegal and if the police set up a sting on him it was most likely because they already knew what he was doing but they didn't have solid evidence to prove it.

it's just like the people living down the street from where I live cook and distribute meth. everyone in the neighborhood knows it and even the cops know it and have been to the house multiple times but they have no solid proof without a warrant to search the home.

They posted on an app, that is apparently known for this illegal practice and caught three random people. This isn’t a targeted incident, it’s casting a net and seeing who stumbled into it.

Why isn’t this app taken down? That to me suggests that it isn’t normally used for illegal behavior. It’s probably a dating site that law abiding people use all the time.

See Section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act.

The upshot is as long as the platform’s actions are content neutral, then it can’t be held liable for the illegality of material posted to the platform by any user or users.

Beyond that, essential brevity prevents an enumeration of full doctrinal detail herein.

Great blog on it here if you want to keep abreast of developments in the area.
