I think you're confused on a couple of points. That Adidas money goes straight into the University coffers. Adidas does additional deals with athletes as part of the arrangement in addition to what they give the AD. None of this has anything to do with Adidas money.Finally the truth is told. Thank you. I saw the payout distribution when the NCAA settlement was finalized and I remember that baseball and women's basketball were basically even in Nil money. Lady Vol basketball got a big boost when Adidas became our shoe company not because of uneven distribution, but because Candace has already signed some high school players of which we have already got a commitment from one of them with a Adidas deal.
The way the share of revenue was divvyed up was the majority to football (we don't know exact numbers so I'm guesstimating 75% just to have a number) , a lot less to basketball (15%), 5% to Lady Vols basketball, and then the remaining 5% is divided up among all the rest of the sports on campus.
Tony's got a real good argument that baseball is worth more to the bottom line than that.
