Alabama losing to FSU is a terrible loss

It is a bad loss. However they still have to lose 2 more games to miss the playoffs. Thats looking not likely. But this league is pure chaos. Ya never know

Irrelevant loss. They're undefeated in conference. In line for the SEC title game. Playoff hopes alive and well. That loss is basically meaningless as hell.

This. It is a bad loss, but if they run the table in the SEC it will be a non issue and by then will be over 3 months old. I hate to defend the Gumps but if they do end up running the table it will be the definition of a fluke and pretty much already is.

The committee will glance over it. No penalty since it was game 1 and considered ancient history. Should have no impact on their playoff chances.

Its no different than Virginia Tech beating Ohio St at OSU the first game of the season in 2014 and Ohio St. running the table to the national championship. I think Tech went 6-6 that year. That kind of scenario could happen this year with Alabama.

You know, useless info, they did an AFLAC trivia question in which this should have been the answer, and they got the answer wrong. When they asked the question I immediately thought "hey, I know that one". I didn't remember the year. AFLAC didn't remember it happened.

The moral of the story is...early season games in football don't necessarily need to be taken too seriously, especially Week 1 games.

Funny enough, Florida St. is a good example 2 years in a row. When they were upset against GT last year it did turn out to be a sign they were terrible. This year they upset Alabama and everyone thought they were back and Alabama was continuing to slide and 2 months later that game was clearly a fluke.

Odd thing is this is not a dominant Bama team. Very beatable, yet winning.

Honestly I don't really see a dominant SEC team this year, and not really a national one. Someone might pull an Ohio St. and get hot at the right time but right now the playoffs could be really interesting with a bunch of good teams but no really great ones.

Truth is we play through with brutal games and long lists of injured reserves in this conference. I'd like to see the average injury-out list for the conference verses tOSU and other B10 teams in that patsy of a league. THey all probably sip tea on the sidelines during timeouts. THey approach post seasons with healthier rosters I'd wager.

It's not a great team. No doubt about it. The O line is merely average to decent. The D line is mediocre at best. The running game is pitiful.

But the one major improvement that Bama has made since Week 1 is that they've cut down on mistakes. They have only three turnovers thru 7 games. Simpson does a good job avoiding sacks. Receivers have stopped dropping passes. Bama has become a team that opponents have to line up and beat because they won't beat themselves.

A grossly misunderstood concept. Vols would be incredibly scary and feared this year if they could achieve cult status on this issue.

Probably how Smart planned his game against us. His entire week prep was to just stay close and we'd find a way to hand it over.

Kirby kind of said this without blatantly saying it weeks ago. It’s a question of who’s going to get better. Which team can take that next step, correct their weaknesses and take advantage of their strengths? The SEC has several teams that could be capable of playing well enough to challenge for a National Championship.
