I don’t think we can know that, frankly. I’ve heard enough to think it’s credible that Danny and Tony don’t like each other. And if they don’t like each other, I would think that would make it much easier for both parties to go their separate ways.

I’m not gonna act like DW should get canned if Tony takes a Major League Baseball managing gig. But I’m not gonna lie: I don’t like what how this has went down; and no matter what happens from here, I’m less of a DW fan today than I was last Monday.

I’ve even tried to talk myself out of that, but this whole thing has the feel of two egos getting in each other’s way and ruining a really special thing we had going here.

Heard today that the last four coaches at Florida have all been fired before they finished their fourth season. Hopefully this trend continues 😂

If he wants to test the MLB, not gonna be able to stop him. Can offer him all the money and resources in the world and it won’t scratch that itch.

Didn’t think about that. It’s a non revenue sport so not sure how much more NIL funds are realistic. I don’t think we should funnel away from baseball to go to women’s bball but seems baseball has plenty of funding.

Agreed.

While Baggarly said his understanding is that Vitello is not just using the Giants’ interest to garner a bigger pay raise out of the Volunteers, Tennessee boosters may try to keep him anyway. According to multiple reports from Knoxville, Vitello has continued in his role as Volunteers head coach throughout the weekend; he was seen at a practice on Sunday and at a scrimmage on Monday.

Spunds like ball is in our Court, to keep him. Either we make it happen. or he's gone.

Need to secure funding on the level that Arkansas is giving their baseball program.

Giants need to make it worth it for him to leave. He may want to scratch the itch but no doubt he understands he has it great at UT. Otherwise the deal would’ve been done in a day.
