Tony Vitello to SF Giants (Confirmed)

I know this puts me in the minority, but if you said you’ll never get to watch any women’s sports again, I wouldn’t lose a minutes rest. The only one who feels stronger about this is my wife.

I’ve tried to watch women’s college basketball but save for C Clark and her shooting it’s often a really tough watch. I’ve started watching a fair amount of women’s college volleyball (primarily because my daughter his high volleyball expectations) but let me tell you the women in the top college vball programs are incredibly athletic.

If the individuals I'm referring to wanted the credit for it, then they'd make it public I'm sure. So I'm not going to air out publicly something they might not want known for whatever reason they don't want it known. I will tell you the same individuals supporting Football, basketball, and to a degree the other sports, are contributing to baseball. Some of those names are well-known and I wouldn't be breaking any news. You've seen them sitting at games.

I know that sounds like a cop-out, but I'm just trying to be considerate.
Ohhh don’t go pretending to be an insider now. I was just starting to like you.

Trust me. Very little concern being shown over at the LV forum. Pretty sure they unddrstand the shift in funds available for NIL. Kellie got zilch, Kim busted the piggy bank.

Yep. this is just a myth. There’s a path to coach in the majors and it’s not through college. The two positions appeal to people for very different reasons. This idea that any college coach would jump is just nonsense. It shows what a fundamental lack of understanding people have for the differences in the game. There is literally no coach you can point to who exclusively coached in college, made a direct jump to professional sports and had success.

Tony could literally be the Saban of college baseball. Unfortunately, he has an AD that’s more focused on resurrecting lady’s basketball.

Spittin’ facts!

I don’t believe this to the extent that it would cause this scenario to go down. The amount of money that’s been raised and committed to our baseball program says the exact opposite.
This really started with the apportionment of revenue sharing. It’s a new issue. Schools decide who and how much each program gets. Danny White apportioned a significant amount more towards women’s basketball. That’s not my opinion, it’s a fact. It’s not that Tony has a beef with women’s basketball. He just knows what some of his main competitors are doing.

I see Tony’s value and the baseball team being much higher. I know a lot of people won’t agree with me. I attend about 20-25 baseball games a year. I’ve been to maybe 10 lady Vols games in my life, and never paid for a tickets. Further. I have no intention of seeing one again, even if they won another championship.

CTV has said that he needs more experienced players to compete in Omaha. Translation: he needs more $ to secure top portal players.
He literally had one of the top portal and high school classes in the country. Getting players doesn’t seem to be an issue. The school doesn’t not control NIL funds. As far as rev share goes our baseball program is getting around the same amount as their rivals. The rumor is TV wants DW to take some rev share away from the Lady Vols and give it to him because that’s what Arkansas did.

Drew Gilberts impact? He batted .190 in 39 games. WTF
“Honestly, what I knew was Drew Gilbert — and I don’t know if any of this happens without Drew Gilbert, I really don’t,” Baggarly said. “That is one of the questions I’d be really interested to ask Buster, if this does end up culminating in a press conference to introduce Tony Vitello as their next manager. How much did what Drew Gilbert did to the clubhouse, to the dugout, to enliven everything, bring some spirits and energy, how much did that sort of make you wake up and think, ‘You know, maybe that’s what this organization really needs. Maybe that’s what this clubhouse really needs.’”

With the set number for revenue sharing declared in the settlement, Peter will always get robbed from to pay Paul….

The challenge for the AD will be to change everyone’s name from Peter to Paul and vice versa every few years trying to build every other program not named Joe Football because they will always have their money.

People saying just give TV more money don’t realize DW has heard from the time he got here to get WBB back into NC competition.

He really does have a challenging job but that’s why he gets paid the Big Buck$

I watched the video of the booster posted a few pages ago and he's clearly more-informed than anyone on this board and more honest than any of our media.

I was just explaining to my buddy the other day the pickle ESPN finds itself in right now, and via ownership-Disney. How many of y'all realized that those constantly rising cable prices were all thanks to ESPN? They would negotiate deals for media rights that no one else could beat and then they would go back to the cable companies, write down a number and say, "Give us this or we bolt." The cable companies had no choice, ESPN was one of the biggest reasons people kept cable for as long as they did. But they are losing that leverage with the streaming and other networks more than willing to spend what it would take to secure SEC rights. It's the hottest thing on TV every weekend and y'all watch those games: they are loaded with ads.

ESPN is a dying network and this ESPN Unlimited ploy is a last-ditch effort to generate some of that lost revenue from people cutting cords.

Also I bet Tony stays at this point based on what he said. I bet he gets some concessions that he asks for. Probably some he didn't. We'll see though. Everyone has the same information I do.
