Sub-optimization should lead to coaching-substitutions. If this were a "one and done", then obviously not. But UT is not trending in the right direction in key areas - WR/TE drops, LB/DB tackling, etc.

No. He just needs to micromanage them better. He is the CEO. Call out the dumb decisions. Rotating OL, not playing the most talented LB's etc etc.

That's fine. The criticisms were around the heavy formation when you were 99.9% going to pass; not wrong. I stand by the fact that Kitz was open and a well placed ball doesn't get run back for 6.

You have a 6-4 elite reciever and 2 more good ones spread out and utilize them.

Chances are definitely a lot lower. Odds are also JA makes a good throw vs. what he did.

I think we agree more than we don’t. I just feel the call wasn’t as bad as it’s made out to be. Routine throw from an accurate QB, favorable matchup vs. personnel on field. Not my favorite call but should have worked.

Also need to factor in what the plan was if it’s incomplete. 13 sec left, burn 6 sec for the play and you either kick or risk one more go thinking you’ll have a sec left. Don’t know but coaches are thinking ahead, would be interested to know the follow-on would have been.

The call was terrible. Everyone in the world watching knew we had to pass. Why run a set like that with what, two routes, and play action pass?

Throw to a guy on an island who often drops the ball running sideways across the field? Yep what a great call and high percentage play. Having your actual receivers out there would've been such a a worse proposition.
