But as President he can't really be held accountable because he is acting as the president. As long as he stays in power he is safe. Thats what he believes (not me).

then you had the "teachers line". this was probably the closest to your meat and veggies. issue was the line was incredibly slow, and teachers could cut this one line, so they did. it was second most expensive options, and you would spend most of lunch waiting. two veggies alone was 6 bucks and that was more than the "fast food" sandwich of the day. sometimes they did pasta, but that would take even longer.

then there was the colloquially named "gravy" option. we always joked it was the leftovers from last week's "teachers line" but served in gravy. some of it was darn tasty, but you would get weird combos. like you would get spaghetti noodles served in a brown gravy with steak tips. they also loved serving meat on a bed of rice with a marinara sauce.

before HS, we only ever had one option. it was the pre selected fast-food esque entre, then those packaged fruit cups, and then some random veggie. I think you got to choose between two there. but you couldn't substitute.

Salad bars in High School? You whipper snappers had it made. We walked to school, through the snow in July, just to eat shoe leather. Pooped it out uphill. Both ways, mind you!

Yea. We grow our own beef, a good portion of the beef people are consuming is foreign beef labeled as U.S. They could tighten that down to only beef born, raised and processed here is U.S. beef. Further though, the only way these imbalances can really be addressed at scale is the end of globalization.

We really don't trust most food anymore, we still buy raw ingredients but keep that to basic items.

Good luck to people in the future, there is not going to be easy choices going forward.

The farm is basically saying cut off imports so that domestic prices can go up drastically, in turn the country can be self sustaining, but you aren't going to like that either.
