so do you want healthy or something kids would eat? As I was pointing out, the two are pretty exclusive. especially when the local education department is buying out these lunches for the whole district.

Hog is correct (as much as it pains me to admit it) the terms aren't mutually exclusive.

We would also have to define healthful. Is that adherence to the 'food pyramid' or actually healthful food groups and portion sizes?

exactly the point. if hog and others are pushing for what I ate in school vs what Michelle Obama pushed, her meals were clearly more healthy. it doesn't mean there isn't a middle ground, but we haven't tried it.

the stuff I ate was processed enough to be launched into space without containment.

I think our lunches were really good. I only remember HS really well though. Traditional meat and two with a bread. Usually a few options available. Also had a fresh salad bar.

you can have heathy and edible. Kids may choose not to eat it anyways. The food that they were serving was nasty, imo. I think it should be a mixture.
