Lack of O line discipline

Offensive Linemen need to be sent to Concentration Camps. You know, the kind of camp where you are taught how to "concentrate"

I was a Center in high school and we either snapped the ball on 1, 2, 3, or 4. We 11 had to remember 1 number.

Ramon Foster said it best this morning.

We will not beat elite teams if we continue with the penalties. We needed to play an
“A” game at bama, not a perfect game But, we played at about a “C.”

I don’t recall the exact #, but Heup’s TN teams avg 7-9 penalties per game. We are above his avg. this yr. The penalties put the offense behind the chains - 2nd and 3rd and long. I don’t get it.

Foster was still irritated and I was surprised how objective he was, stating “the before the half clock mgmt and play call” was bad- on Heup.

Vols have 23 presnap penalties. 20 of them false starts by the O line.
This is more than last year's total already.

We will not beat good teams if Josh can't get the team to line up, hold their water and fire off on the count. Pretty basic football concept.
Pure gold Jerry

Tennessee had more false starts IN NEYLAND than our two opponents did. Both Ga & Ark had ZERO false starts.

That's fine if you can hear the count.

13 people have varying degrees of input to our offense. I believe that is enough eyes on the subject to get the ball snapped correctly.

Glenn Elarbee Off Line
Joey Halzle Off Coord
Cayden Cochran Off Analy
Deonte' Cruse Off Analy
Jack Jancek Off Assit

Used to kind of write it off because we were going in Hyper speed. We haven’t done that in 3 seasons. Maybe a huddle every now and then to tell everyone what the plan is would be appropriate. Doesn’t seem every one running to the line in an hurry and turning around looking at the QB for 20 seconds is working. The Defense is getting more rest between plays than our o-line. And they are watching the QB also.

Exactly. Is CJH trying to invent some new-fangled snap count??? Why make things more complicated? AAMOF... just snap it the same every down. Better than a penalty.

We are still the fastest offense in the nation. The false starts are not good though and need to be fixed. Neither UGA nor Ark had a false start even in Neyland which was well over 100Db for both games. I was impressed by how loud we were for Arkansas in an afternoon game.

Being a fast offense isn’t worth a nickel if you continually shoot yourself in the foot with pre snap penalties and false starts. They obviously haven’t worked hard enough at fixing it yet. The time is NOW! GBO

Is bet the majority are 2nd or 3rd and 1-3 yards when we run back to the line in a big hurry. Like we just got 8 yards for the first time ever and are too excited to know what to do. Just slow down a tad. They aren’t subbing. New qb been here a few months with new OL..take your time. Plus, defense just crashes the line anyway when we go quick. It’s either going to be a run up the middle or throw outside so they vacate between the hashes and crash.
Seems we’ve had more penalty yards than good pickups, or at least they stand out more.
First drive last game. Got to 3rd and 1, rushed it, penalty made it 3rd and 6 and went 3 and out, punt and they go score with ease.
All started after we lost momentum trying to rush.

The fastest offense is killing us now. We don't get set. Offsides. Illegal shift. Every good team has us figured out. Stop trying to fool everyone. Put plays in that will work. Pound the ball. We just don't have the athletes to compete with the big boys. Oklahoma will run through our offense line like water in a funnel. Just glad we don't play Texas AM. We don't need to be in the playoffs until we can take that next step. Our offense has about six plays.

Old news, Like 2-3 years old.
Nothing has changed.
Except for some of the O linemen.
