No Kings

What if one's not on either side but pays taxes? Really your statement is comical. Waste is waste and Trump's wasting money like there's no tomorrow. New ballroom anyone?

I'm not going to defend Trump, but if you are seriously going to whine about wasted taxpayer money there's no point in having a conversation. Every single day the government wastes billions and you're complaining a ballroom? Please stop.

Lat response.......fingers crossed

No one wants to read the inevitable nonsense. If anyone actually does, they could join in the dedicated thread.
They can glaze over as they desire. No better place to discuss your posts, or mine, than in-thread where they are made.

So, again... Here are a couple of pertinent questions that people can follow, or not, as they choose
Anyone who watches this and isn't repulsed by trump is pretty much a lost cause.

It's amazing and incredibly sad.

Based on what standard?

And having settled what standard, should we assume that you are claiming to have never done anything as bad, or worse, than posting poop memes? You should be less repulsive to us than Trump's meme-posting, if we were to know Luther's deepest, darkest secrets?

Or should we just continue assuming that you get to creatively use your own personal standard to excuse yourself and your preferred teammates, while simultaneously demonizing the people you don't like?

I hope it's not the latter, as it would seem mean-spirited, manipulative and down-right Machiavellian. One may even say, "repulsive"...depending on the consistency of their standard.

The question is problematic. "Healthcare" is too broad for a simple yes or no. For example, no healthcare for a common cold? Yes. No healthcare for a life saving condition? No.

Also, the premise that it is either health insurance or no healthcare is faulty. private funding, donations, charitable associations, charity hospitals and providers who write off their charges are all viable.
Who gets healthcare for a common cold? What about chronic non-life threatening conditions?
Where does the premise of health insurance or no health care come from? Is that the only option?
In some places charity might meet the need. In other places it won't. What then?

You keep saying you don't defend Trump but you keep defending Trump. Didn't he run on cutting waste?

You can say you're not a loon but you keep acting like a loon. He is saying in context that, that isn't very important. You are over here talking about healthcare cost, to put it in context you can't afford what you have now. Just take a small portion of it Medicare. That is a $50-100T off balance sheet liability. That isn't being addressed and isn't going to be addressed.

What he is saying is in context that isn't important even if it was important and he can see you have a serious case of TDS if not much worse.

Many. Repeat "customers", too. I'll let others who have first hand knowledge comment. My knowledge is second hand. There are many ER/ED visits for non emergency needs.

Depends on the chronic issue. The issues which are controllable with lifestyle choices are a "no" from me.

I thought that was your premise. Please correct my misunderstanding and I will correct my thoughts.

I would need something more specific to answer. America and americans are incredibly charitable. My brain is having difficulty constructing a scenario where charity wouldn't meet the need.

well, and healthcare here is once again falsely attributed to "health insurance". those are two completely separate issues. I don't know of any places that REQUIRED health insurance before treatment. I was able to get treatment outside of my insurance at the time. they have access to health care regardless.

same with the BS on not getting emergency services if they can't pay. they could go to the ER then, they can go to the ER now, in both cases we, the people with health insurance, paid for it. now we just pay a lot more for the same crap.

Like you not getting paid because of the Schumer Shutdown
I've got like 5 years salary saved in cash. Ill still make my million dollar home mortgage on time for the foreseeable future.

Slubs below me? Not so sure. Lots of Vets in trouble thanks to Trumps pathetic leadership.

How am I defending Trump by saying government waste is a bipartisan deal?

I totally agree on Trump doing a 180 from cutting waste. He also said no more wars and inflation would be tamed, so yeah, he has been a bust in many ways so far.

I'm not on any politician's "side" or beholden to any party, but the left has gone so far off the rails that to defend it is flat out insanity.

Calling Trump a "king" after what we lived through the last four years is so far beyond tone deaf it's scary.

Get sick? Suffer through it. Be a man.

Did anyone have a groovy time at the NKP?
Mine was pretty groovy. I was at an Irish pub in Durham watching the GT game with a big Tech crowd there for a wedding.
An elderly lady, a younger lady, and a baby in a stroller came in carrying signs.
Turns out a No Kings rally was scheduled at 2 about a block away.
The sign I saw was great....it was about how big of an idiot Kennedy is.
Seeing the elderly lady sitting there sipping a beer with her daughter and granddaughter (I was there with my daughter and granddaughter) with that sign propped up on the table was simply perfect.

We ended up seeing lots of people carrying signs headed to the rally. Many stopped in for a beer.
They were all enthusiastically supported by the GT crowd (there from all over the country) and by the largely Hispanic crowd there watching a soccer match.

And didn't see a single person wearing a mask.

Find better friends. People with any sense about them don't get married on fall Saturdays.

Ugghh. My stepson got married on the 3rd Saturday in October in 2022 in Gatlinburg. It was awkward eyeballing my phone during the wedding. Caught 2nd half at the reception at the hotel. They’re gamecock fans 🤮 and didn’t like it when I had the band strike up rocky top.

lol.....true.
Football doesn't seem to carry the same weight with the GT fan base.

They're ranked #7 and will probably still not sell out Saturday.

But the upside is I can get tickets for around $40.

Do they get medicated and at what cost? A doctor or PA could see them, tell them they have a cold, and to beat feet. Being a 'regular customer' might be tied to mental health issues.

How about chronic pain, joint replacement, scoliosis, things like that?
I thought that was your premise. Please correct my misunderstanding and I will correct my thoughts.
No, I didn't say or imply that. Other arrangements are possible.
I would need something more specific to answer. America and americans are incredibly charitable. My brain is having difficulty constructing a scenario where charity wouldn't meet the need.
More specific how? How can it be ensured that charity covers all real needs?

Trump's a wannabe king. Biden was too but Trump's taking it further.
