so many things wrong with the play call. No spreading the defense. Even that play call to the other side of the field would have left more wiggle room around a potential error. Super limiting play with only two options, short side of field, soft pass, inside. Heck with the situational football fake pass handoff would have been at least unexpected. Just simply too basic of thought process there, so much so that everyone knew what has happening, and not a high success rate play. All around bad as could be.

The transfer portal this next January is going to be one for the record books. Record number of job openings at this point in the year and the new portal rules are going to make everyone even considering the portal jump in head-first.

Not just responding to you in particular but to the poll drop. We are the second highest rated two loss team behind only Notre Dame.

Their losses are equal to ours tbh. They also started the season ranked higher than we did (which the pollsters absolutely consider), have a win against a ranked team (USC) and blew the doors off the same Arkansas team on the road that we struggled to beat at home. Oh and they’re Notre Dame.

- Against Arkansas we were conceding to halftime, then Bishop ripped one and put us at midfield. Obviously, we seemed unprepared for that and failed to convert.

- MSST. Stopped Bothwell at MSST 28-yard line with 1:01 left on the clock. Didn't take a timeout????? Clock runs to 14 seconds, and they punt.

- Bama. 2nd and 10 from Bama 27 with 1:30 left in the half. We hand off to Thomas for a gain of 1 yard. We then allow 40 seconds to run before the next play????? This was defensive play calling. We were scared of leaving them any time on the clock prior to halftime. If he had confidence in his DC, this would not happen.

To compound the issue, we hand it off to Bishop and he is tackled at the Bama 5-yard line. I'm screaming "Timeout!" Nope. We allow 12 seconds to run and then hand it off again. This put us in the predictable situation and the pick-6. If Tennessee needs a stat guy to handle timeouts, I will do it for free. Just put me through the headset.

Yea I don't know if his lack of confidence in the DC is the reason or not. I think he just sucks in clock management. We had the same clock issues against Arkansas last year with an elite defense.

If I had to give an excuse I would assume since he is so involved in the playcalling aspect of those 2 minute offensive possessions, he is having a difficult time of multitasking his HC responsibilities of managing the clock.
