Expectations changed once we saw Joey was the real deal. We had (have) talent at every position. 10-2 is what i predicted after UGA game, though I thought we’d play much better and cleaner. How many of our fans would have predicted this ranking at this point in the season after we lost our starting QB the day after spring practice ended and lost our 2 starting CBs to injury, one of which was an All American?
Luckily we have 2 teams ranked above us on the schedule and those games are at home. Fun year especially considering how things looked over the summer with Nico leaving and us getting a player to be named later in return.
That's fair. Also clock management and lining up in a run formation with no timeouts on the goal line and then passing after a timeout from Bama is fair criticism, I agree expectations changed. However Heupel also deserves credit for getting Joey ready in a short time. I also think our 2 starting corners being out is killing us more than our fans realize. We can no longer run man to man on the outside and we are forced to play mostly zone D and that IMO is the biggest difference from last years D. We still have a lot to play for and 10-2 is still possible.Expectations changed once we saw Joey was the real deal. I was dumbfounded at our lack of tackling skills/effort at times last night. Heup should blow a gasket on this guys and their lack of effort and softness. Couple of times our DBs turned down contact. Embarrassing would be an understatement. We are a soft defense.IMO it could have been way worse. UT looked embarrassing last night. humiliated.
