TENNESSEE SOCCER GAMEDAY ⚽️ #12 Lady Vols vs Alabama 3pm Regal Stadium (Free Admission)

Now with Brown probably gone for the season we are a shell of the team that started the year. We have no offensive punch and to win in postseason you have to score. We have to get better service from our corner kicks it was bad today. Vandy and I really hate to say it just out played us.

Vandy totally dominated this game. They made very few mistakes and were faster to every ball. If the LV’s want to do anything in the NCAA tourney, they need to work on their passing. At this level, you can’t give the ball away as much as they did.

I guess I disagree with the assessment that Vandy totally dominated this game. We outshot them in the first half. Shots on goal was 6-7 for the game. And we had 8 corners to their 4. The difference in the game was that they finished two and we did not finish any. I thought either Vandy or TN would score one late because you are pushing numbers up. So to give up a second is understandable, because you desperately needed a point with a draw to stay in contention.

Yes injuries have taken their toll. Brown is a seismic loss if she is out for the season. We ran into perhaps the hottest team in the SEC and we played a very competitive game.

MATTERN CALLED UP TO U.S. U-20 WOMEN'S NATIONAL TEAM TRAINING CAMP

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Tennessee sophomore forward Reese Mattern has been called up to the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team training camp, U.S. Soccer communications announced Monday.

Mattern is one of 24 players set to participate in the camp, which will be held from October 22-30 at the University of Kansas Health System Training Center, home of the 2025 NWSL Shield winners Kansas City Current. The latter part of that camp – from Oct. 27-29 – will be held concurrently with the senior USWNT's visit to Kansas City for its match against New Zealand on Oct. 29 at CPKC Stadium.

This camp will be the first for new U.S. U-20 WNT head coach Vicky Jepson, who comes to U.S. Soccer after a long stint at Tottenham Hotspur where she served as first team senior assistant head coach and for a period, as interim head coach.

This marks Mattern's third call-up for a National Team training camp, as she took part in a pair of U-19 camps earlier this year.

The Charlottesville, Virginia, native has start in 14 matches for the Lady Vols this season while appearing in all 16 contests. Mattern has logged a pair of goals and assists on the year and recorded the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over Texas A&M (9/26).
