According to a tweet response from Adam Low yesterday, that did not happen, and he should know as he is the director of baseball operations.

Surprised that we haven’t seen player or recruit tweets yet. No one has addressed it one way or another besides drew beam saying he didn’t know anything

I'm not going to predict how this is going to turn out, but I just read Ben McKee say that Tony's buyout appears to be a hangup in negotiations. San Francisco wanted to dock Tony's future salary to pay the buyout. He wasn't on board with that. I'm still trying to see if there are any more recent updates.

He also says he doesn't think Elander would follow Tony if he goes. He suggested Q and Sean McCann would.

Elander has small kids. That’s a lot of traveling with a young family.

I hope you are right. Just looking at MLB manager salaries:

1. He is going because he wants to coach SOMEWHERE in the show. SF isn't going to pay him 6 million a year. Or,
2. He is playing this to get a big extension, get some promises on NIL funding and getting the stadium finished. DW "could" be on board with this as the middle man going to the boosters saying, "I don't have anymore $$ to go around, help me out here."

#2 just me dreaming though.

If the Giants think Vitello is their best option/gives them a chance to win a title, they're going to let 3 million get in the way of that?

That's not DW's fault. Every, single, contractor in Knoxville that works on UTK construction projects goes over budget and takes more time than promised. It's the way the bidding system is set up that hamstrings how contractors are chosen.

The only control is that F&S can blacklist firms.... then those firms dissolve and form new ones which aren't blacklisted even though we know what they're doing.

The bidding system is forced on the school by the state. And I wouldn't be shocked if there's folks in Nashville who have financial stakes in some of these construction companies.

Usually the high profile jobs get done in time and it's the academic buildings or beautification projects that drag on, but this happened to the track facilities too.

Ben McKee reported that CTV pitched BP today at practice. Rumors circulating that power brokers are opening coffers for increasing baseball’s budget. My gut says he stays…

EDIT: Giants paid Melvin $4M and Bochy $6M and I can’t imagine they offered Vitello more than $5M. Giants are reportedly balking at paying for CTV’s $3M buyout so might have a stumbling block there.

If he stays that great ....when Baseball season starts these Twitter dumasses need to tone it down about every move CTV makes during the games...

If you’re right, this ends up better for happening if money is opened up for baseball and LNS is fast tracked like it should’ve been.

Voicing frustrations at games here is usually restricted to being upset with individual plays rather than players or coaches. We have a few idiots but mostly just “why swing at a slider 1’ outside” type stuff. I don’t see what happens on Twitter though, I don’t get on it during losses.
