'25 Recruiting Forum: Official TSIO Alabama vs Tennessee Pre-game/Game Thread

One of many things that annoy me about this team is the substitutions. Why can't our players, specifically Arion Carter, play more consecutive series. I understand rotating guys especially the DL, but there is no reason Bolton, Teelander, Walton, and Wright should be out there. Oh and Weathersby, has he ever made a play? Especially at the same f*ing time! Is it a conditioning thing? Our guys look gassed af and they only play 1-2 series.

Bolton played 3 snaps.

AC played 49.

Telander 41.

As a reminder Spillman had to sit 1H and played 29 snaps in 2H.

Perlotte played 15 snaps.

That’s it for LBs.

Sidney Walton played 4 snaps.

Wright played 25 snaps.

Weathersby played 11 snaps.

Based on not ducking your head to tackle at the goal line when your last line of defense.. Based on not running around blocks when you should be run fitting but there’s a 300lb guard pulling. Based on sticking your neck into a pile to keep a back from getting an extra yard on 4th and one…

Based on that definition I’d add quite a few players. Arion Carter on D. Telander is as tough as they come albeit not that skilled. Farooq isn’t afraid to tackle anyone.

On offense Bishop, Lewis, prob multiple OL, Kits, and a WR or two need to be added.

Our main issue right now is our inability to play complimentary football.

We aren't a perfect team in all 3 phases of the game and we often compound the suck by not taking advantage of our successes.

missing kicks after the offense and defense did its job

Defense can't get off the field when our punter pins them

Defense gets a turnover and we don't score afterwards

Offense goes right down the field and score, then the defense can't put the clamps down

Horrendous penalties that kill drives.

Just haven't put together a competent 60 minutes against quality opposition.

I would say we haven't done it against anyone. We just get away with it against lesser teams. Bama, UGA.. Not so much. And those teams don't need help.

Toughness is teachable. Toughness isn’t about wanting to fight. It’s repeatedly giving maximum effort when things look dark.
And allowing people to not fight during these times and rewarding it is teaching the opposite
Completely disagree with that, some habits are learned but you’re either born with toughness or you’re not.

You are lead into toughness, soft parents create soft kids. Same as soft bosses create soft workers.
When people learn the standard, if they want to be great, they adhere to it. On every level.
There’s a fundamental difference in toughness between mark richt led Georgia teams and Kirby smart Georgia teams. And it starts with the leader

It’s pretty cruel irony knowing we will likely have 2 high round (possibly first!) draft picks at cornerback after that performance last night lol

We truly have the worst luck
The stuff that killed us was pathetic tackling and piss poor zone concepts. Talent doesn’t matter if they don’t know what to do or if there isn’t effort to tackle

We are ranked 17 which is better than I expected.

The game was much closer than 17 points whether people want to admit it or not. If we score before half instead of throwing a pick 6, we likely win or lose by at worst 3. One play was a massive difference.

God this one stings a bit more than I thought it would. Idk if it’s cause the game was so winnable or cause my childhood best friend is a bammer and kept calling me throughout the game yesterday only after they were up smh.

That’s a fact the “player council allowed him back”
That player council is also a handful of guys that are the extension of the coaching staff.

With him being back, does it look like he’s been accepted back by all? Just from your eyes. Maybe I’m seeing things, but when plays are made, groups of guys usually ham it up, when do you see that with 23?
How often do you see guys rush to pick him up?

But again, those are things that maybe I only notice.
I notice he's loafing almost every instance he's in coverage. Then he makes a nice TFL and then disappears for 40 snaps. I hope he leaves.

I said that when I was watching it. I asked my son if I’m crazy because I don’t even know what’s considered holding anymore. They NEVER call that and I just want to know when that became not a hold?
😂 The Birmingham Office considers that holding when Bama's opponents do it, most of all Tennessee. But absolutely NOT a penalty when Bama does it. That's the source of your confusion.

It's natural to presuppose that the officials are there to objectively enforce the rules on both sides, but that's simply not true in the SEC. Tbey are there to rig outcomes. It's gone so far that the so-called "games" are pretty much unwatchable. It is a television show, but it's not actually a legitimate sporting event.

I would block that bish in a heartbeat. 😂

Let me give you an example. If we had scored that same safety, Birmingham's fixers would have thrown a flag for tackling by the neck of the jersey. Then there was the Bama player who -- after that play was over -- ran to Joey and jumped as high as he could in order to land his full body weight on a player in a defenseless position with the intent of injuring him. Once the Bama player landed on the QB he raised his arm and then takes an arm-shot at his neck. The would have been a 15 yard penalty, score annulled, first down, and the edge rusher ejected from the game.
