About what I expected.

I will play the “what if” game as I always hold out hope, though I don’t think we are a playoff team.:
• need Oklahoma, Vandy, Bama, UGA to run the table (except when playing TN)

• TN runs table

• need five SEC teams to get playoff bid

• need someone like BYU, Irish, Etc to lose a game.

• Mizz must lose again , hopefully vandy

I would feel much better if we ran table and knocked out both Oklahoma and Vandy.

How is Ole Miss still ranked that high after Georgia never punted the whole game?? I don’t care how good their offense is. Georgia’s offense was a doormat in the first half the week prior at Auburn.
They are even ranked ahead of Miami.

To be expected, I thought UT would fall further.

Even with the possibility of finishing 10-2, the teams resume is weak (similar to ND) but I doubt they’ll get into the playoffs.

No wins against a quality ranked opponent, at the moment.

I mean, one team lost by 3 and it was their lost of the year, and the other lost by 17 and it was their second loss of the year.
I get it, but i just wish there was any level of consistency in rankings. I guess after that one woman moved Florida up in her poll after losing to USF earlier this year, all of this should be taken with a heaping spoonful of salt rather than just a grain. I mean both of our losses also came to teams currently ranked 5th or higher.

Ole Miss is good. Simple.

We really need Oklahoma to be Ole Miss so they can be a top 10 team when they come to Neyland.

So our two losses came from AL and GA, both ranked in top 5.

To win out we need to beat 2 teams currently ranked ahead of us OK (11) and Vandy (12) - if we do that (and that may be a big IF), we should have enough to sneak in.

On another note, the fact that Vandy is ranked above us is extraordinarily disturbing to me.

Ole Miss' defense is just as bad as ours and we have a better offense than they do.

And by the way, Chambliss is doing better than Aguilar this year.

In 7 starts, Joey has 2000 yards and 17 touchdowns. 285 YPG / 2.4 TD per game

In 5 starts, Chambliss has 1800 and 13 touchdowns. 360 YPG / 2.6 TD per game.

It makes my stomach turn to see vAndy ranked higher than us. We must take care of business when the time arrives.

All the SEC teams with 1 loss are in front of us -

Missouri and Vandy plays next week - one of those two will have 2 losses.
Bama has OU later in the year - one of those two will have their second loss just because they play each other.
Georgia looks to have the easier sailing - but Georgia Tech is awaiting them, and they play at Miss State
Ole Miss and OU meet - one of those two will have their second loss just because the play each other.
A&M plays at Missouri, at Texas and at LSU.

That is my way of saying that several of the 1 loss teams will have a second loss - some with the match ups may have 3.

Oregon has no wins against a quality ranked opponent either and no opportunity to get one.

Ideally we want OU to beat Ole Miss. a 1 loss OU team will be a top ten team when we play them. Easily give us a chance to slingshot back up.

we don't care what A&M, Bama or UGA do they are locks no matter what

Oklahoma and Vandy don't matter because we will have to beat them anyway and Vandy has no shot anyway

Ole Miss and Mizzou are our "competition" but really not because Ole Miss will lose one more and Mizzou will too...and our schedule and SOS will be higher

I think the SEC gets 5 in , but could just be 4
