Zero Holding Calls against Alabama O-Line

It's a well known fact that Alabama players DO NOT hold. It's the way they're coached...

SEC refs are also made very aware of this in pre-game meetings...

I didn’t go back to 2019, but the last three games played in Tuscaloosa, Alabama has been penalized ZERO times for offensive holding.

ZERO!
I don’t think we were flagged for offensive holding either…I could call offensive holding on just about every play regardless of who has the ball

Just stop with the BS.
Exactly, I am quick to call out sorry refs (even got told that I making excuses by fellow Vols fans) but Fulmerite is just being a homer. Our players and coaches blew some key plays and that will not cut it against a good Bama team. I loathe that fan base but sadly they are too good to make mistakes like we made.

Refs are not why we lost last night. Some other games people have an argument the zebras were partly or mostly responsible.

It’s not BS. They were not going to let us win this game. I even called it before the game started!
The refs had nothing to do with our momentum. We had it and then we screwed ourselves. I really wish you ref blamers would grow up and just admit what really happened. Were there some bad calls? Yes. The refs missed calls that should have went against us as well. We got out played and out coached by a better team. It’s that simple.

BOT, you know Bama was not better than us. Therefore, you just have to know there had to be another reason. Saying that, what do you think is the most likely excuse for this loss?

See what I did there?

We lost last night because Bama was the better team. Full stop.

However, officiating, particularly in Tuscaloosa, is generally one-sided and it’s blatant. I will die on the hill that particularly in 2019 and 2023 it cost us those games. It’s the type of one-sided officiating that we don’t benefit from in Neyland for some reason. Hell, look at the box score last week with Arkansas.

In fairness too, we got normal standard home officiating in 2022 vs Bama, and look what happened. There is a middle ground here that is right. It isn’t always the officials, but sometimes it absolutely is. This year has been better than most (I’m sure AU would disagree), I’ll say that, and the officiating on balance last night was pretty fair IMO with missed calls and bad calls on both sides.

The mouth breather extremes on both side of this argument are refusing to look at reality though.

As someone who is at times certainly among the ref blamers (2023 had me fuming because I believe we might have won) this loss was on our players and coaches. We got away with some holds just like them. You hit the nail on the head.
