I've not seen anyone call for him to be fired. Some of us just think he wont be around in 5 years if the admin wants to win champs.

Edit for clarity: I'm not saying that as in, "if the admin isnt stupid theyre fire him" but in the Penn state sense. I personally dont think franklin shouldve been fired.

Coach Huepal deserves his just criticism for last nights performance but all yall callin for his head are ridiculous.

So answer this, if we fire CJH who do you want to replace him?

This should be good.
Who is calling for his head? Most think he needs to make some staffing changes. And, some have questioned if he can lead us to a natty - and that’s a fair question.

Nick Saban obviously. Or Urban Meyer. I heard there is a former Super Bowl-winning coach just dying to coach in the SEC...

What if I told all Heupel needed to do is to shake up the staff. With all the firings happening there are plenty of interim staff and coordinators across the country doing job auditions.

I hear there is an upstart OC and QB combo on the west coast in California that are 3-0 since the head coach was fired and fit Heupel’s system that we could bring in since Aguilar is out of eligibility.

I’ll see myself out.

This board is full of goofball homers who if we were in another coaching search would be throwing out names that are never coming to Tennessee or virtually anywhere else but that never stops them. It’s comical, Heupel isn’t going anywhere unless he takes another job. He does need to fire Banks and hopefully he will. John Jancek fielded more consistent defenses than Banks and I am not sure if he even still coaches.

Well if "some of us" aren't calling for him to be fired and you know he wont be around in 5 years, which means hes not winning championships, National or SEC, then aren't "some of us" settling for mediocrity?

I think a way to get over the mediocrity is for Heupel to shake up the staff. There are plenty of coaches on teams that fired their head coach doing job auditions right now. We also need a QB with Aguilar being done after this season.

I hear there is an upstart OC and QB who fits Heupel’s system out west who will likely be in the portal. Maybe that could inject some energy.

😂

You joke, but if UCLA doesn’t retain him, I’d absolutely love Jerry Neuheisel lol. Dude’s offense is killing it.

I have a feeling that guy is gonna wind up in a multi year OC deal at UCLA with whatever coach they hire.

I personally hope Heupel can land a QB with at least 2 years left in eligibility and bring their OC.

Similar to OU with Mateer/Arbuckle.

Heupel can identify them but Hazle has to go.

I rarely agree with you but I'm with you here. I think if Heupes would just grab Tim Banks and shake him, then maybe his safeties wouldn't miss so many assignments.

Saban is out. When he realized NIL would result in closing the talent gap of teams he decided to quit. He could no longer have 5 star players, three deep at every position like he had enjoyed for so long.
