The most disappointing part is actually

Lots of disappointment. Penalties early stopped first downs and resulted in punts. Of course the end of the half when we let a 5 year old pick our play. Dropped passes (Mikes drop maybe a first down and if not a short 4th or fg but instead…99 the other way soon after.
In the game in the 3rd, only down 10 and pinned on their goal line, we give up over 10YPP! on a 9 play 99 yard drive. Even under Sunseri, UT defense has never given up more long drives under any DC than Banks.
Cut to 10 again, 3rd and 2 and our defense runs for the hills at the snap.
Amateur hour. Every week. That’s what’s most disappointing. I feel for a players. Lbs not doing great but look what they are asked to do as we complain about them not making plays.

The pass at halftime was at the exact time Peyton did his last game against Nebraska . Nebraska then went on and destroyed us. It’s very hard to come back from that disappointment ! We aren’t as bad as it seems!

Yeah but we kinda expected all of that. The pressure was the one thing we were supposed to be able to count on to give Tenn a chance at the W. They were a no show.

Most disappointing to me were the constant “unforced” mistakes of false starts, illegal formation, bad snap, offensive PI. They didn’t give themselves a chance to win the game with all these mental mistakes before or at snap.

Overall, to me, it was one of the poorest performances of the Heupel era.

“We gotta get it cleaned up” ain’t getting it done.
Refs were determined to stop our momentum first half.. the OPI was a bad call ball was essentially right down the line.. funny they knew where the line was there but not when bama player lined up in our back field… Braylon Staley was also not lined up on the ball which was another bad call… Tennessee essentially was playing bama the refs and themselves all night frustrating to watch.

In this day of flashy wide receivers and mobile QBs playing backyard-style football, I think people start to forget just how important the offensive and defensive lines are. The game literally starts there and works its way out.

You want to know why Saban was so dominant? Because he was averaging 3 offensive and defensive lineman selected in the NFL draft every year. Great defensive lines allowed the secondary and linebackers to shine. With great offensive lines the backs and QBs didn’t have to be elite.

Having dominant line play literally makes every player on the field better AND takes the pressure off them.

He also did it against UCLA when we were up 24-0 going in for a 31-0 halftime lead. We ended up barely holding on for a win.

Easy to say in hindsight. At a minimum Joey should have thrown it away. The worst case scenario is on the QB play.
It’s a bad play because the best case scenario is a throwaway. It’s all risk.

And “easy to say in hindsight” is so lazy. Boy, sure was easy to see in hindsight that lining up DBs fifteen yards off the line of scrimmage might not work on third and 2, but no way anyone could have recognized that in real time.

We cut it to 10…get turn over at midfield then snap communication and drop a pass.
We had more total yds but lose the turnover battle. The D played well enough for us to win. Mistakes lost this game period!

As far as tackling goes .... Do you remember the play where Alabama was attempting a lateral/throwback pass to the QB ? We snuffed it out and had Simpson covered, and we had defenders in position to make the tackle for a loss .... but then just whiffed, and allowed a big gain into Tennessee territory. That was embarrassingly bad tackling.
I can’t count the number of times where we have whiffed on sacks and tackles for loss resulting in gains for the other team over the past few seasons. Seems to happen pretty frequently, especially on third down.

If any player asks for more money and refuses to participate in offseason workouts and practices like Boo did then tell them BYE. Boo has become a liability.
It’s hilarious the contributions we’ve gotten from the guys we gave big raises. Nico, Gibson (obviously not really his fault), Mike Matthews, Boo, Merk.

Why go under center in the first series of the game around midfield when that’s not your offense. Bama week isn’t the time to reinvent your offense.

Going forward, making appropriate NIL allotments is going to be a critical aspect of personnel management. Our early returns are not good. We are definitely over-paying some guys.

3rd and 2. 4 defenders bracketing 2. Lb and safety 20/25 yards from the qb drop and no wr within 10 yards. 2 players wide open for easy throws. This **** is ridiculous and happening multiple times every game. This isn’t on the lbs and safeties. It’s where they are supposed to run to at the snap like they are in 1st grade.

Defense behind the line is one of the worst in the nation.

Heupel hasn't won at Athens, Gainesville or Tuscaloosa yet, don't see that happening any time soon with these clown coordinators, Golesh was the rare shining star that got out when he could, watching the secondary tonight you truly see how bad of a coach Martinez is, he was bad under Butch Jones, even worse now
We won at LSU.
