The Official #11 Tennessee @ #6 Alabama Game Thread, 7:30 PM ET, ABC

I’ve always thought poor tackling teams were poorly coached teams. It’s a basic of playing football and we tackle like pee wee kids doing it for the first time. Our DB coaching is horrific. Heupel doesn’t have the skillset to manage a program to win a championship. He’s a good coach but better suited in a coordinator type role.
I think Heupel hands out ice cream to players who make mistakes in practice.

I love the weird hype with this game now. Homer takes game over the last 4 years, yet gumps and media are acting like it is still 16 straight. Bama hasn't won in neyland since 2020.
Yeah, UT barely eeks out a W in Neyland with last minute FGS, and bama stomps our ass in Bryant Denny. Wooo Hoooo.

100%. That’s why he recruits well. All about the locker room and atmosphere. All fun and games when the expectation is 7-5. That’s not the case now, which, to his creditis his doing. Now, we get to find out if JH has the man parts to make some tough coaching decisions. You go anything less than 8-4 this year, I think some of them will be made for him because too much money is at stake. At worst, Banks and Willie have to go. I think you gotta bring in some offensive support staff too, but this offense has done well given the fact we literally have 3 WRs (which again, is on JH). JH has to learn to be more aggressive in the transfer portal moving forward to prevent the depth issues (which is hard with NIL). We need to recruit better out of high school too, especially in the secondary.
You’re not wrong on all fronts, the question is, do you trust him to do that? I’ll believe he fires and makes serious hires when I see it. Let’s start there.
