Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Our DBs are getting flat out exposed. Two really stupid PI penalties and it’s got a chance to be the final nail of the coffin if the Gumps get points.

Halzle has called a bad game. Still throwing horizontal passes at the LOS.

Matthews killed us with his drops and Staley has at least 2 drops including that TD pass he just dropped. Wonder why we didnt call any designed runs for Joey or RPOs ? Terrible game offensively.

Hogs in here trashing our defense. They gave up 28 points to bama and were on the field the entire game. Caused a fumble too. The offense scored 20 for UT and 9 for Bama for a total of 11 points. The defense didnt lose this game.

Yes, the defense deserved to be trashed. Bama hasn’t been able to run the ball against anyone but we’ve continued to only rush 3-4 every play while our pass defense has been abysmal. Should have been blitzing all game to put pressure on Simpson, try to make him throw some bad balls. Not to mention they cannot tackle.

Yea, I agree that the offensive play calling wasn’t great.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

THE ANNOUNCER JUST CALLED OUT THE REFS FOR NOT CALLING PENALTIES ON BAMA THE WHOLE GAME AND THEN CALLING 3 MEANINGLESS ON THE LAST MINUTE TO CREATE A FALSE NARRATIVE

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Edit: his words. He literally said these late penalties create a false narrative. Hes gonna get suspended or at least scolded for that one

Grew up in Hixson, but live by Jenkins, between Morris Hill and Gunbarrel.
Let me know if you want me to cut the grass or help with something else. Be glad to help you out.

About maps, all the towns I lived in and making sales calls, I had a boatload.

Thank you, I will definitely keep you in mind. We got away late enough in the year that the grass had slowed down, and I've been keeping up with it. I have a couple of trees down, and a new neighbor wants them and is going to cut them up and take the wood. A couple of other neighbors are keeping an eye on things and collecting mail, so it's all working out so far.

One thing that's driven me nuts is the weird stuff that interferes. Like my phone battery after an update went would discharge like you wouldn't believe and some calls wouldn't come through at all or wouldn't stay connected more than 30 sec. That was while I was trying to get the cats and a load of stuff with the wife over here and staying in touch was critical. Got my old phone out and swapped the SIM card and got by until I got a new phone. Got a new Pixel 9A which works great and swearing off Motorola. Just stuff like that - not major but extra stress everyone can definitely do without.

Gonna have to be perfect the rest of the way. 9-3 is a good year too in a reloading year. More than half the VN posters picked 9-3 before the season started.

IF we don't have SEC caliber players at BOTH Safety spots next year...somebody needs to be fired. Gotta spend the money in the portal to get help back there or we will be forever a 9-3 team or worse.

Our offense has -2 points at halftime...7points scored for UT and 9points for Bama. I listened to JG on the radio yesterday talking about his goal line fumble that bama returned 99yards to break the game open after calling his own number down there. Joey just did pretty much the same thing. That was a terrible playcall though. We HAD to pass that down so that if we didnt score the incomplete would stop the clock. You cant have your QB stare down the TE the entire play then throw a 25yard sideways pass on the goal line. Bad call, bad throw, bad result

Definitely lacking in player quality in key positions. Worst part is receivers, and nobody on defense seems capable of bringing down someone running with the ball. There were way too many Bama players in our backfield tonight, too.

It’s a long season. How we finish from this point forward will define us. If we want to run the table, we need to get healthy again in the secondary. This was supposed to be our most talented secondary in a long time, but injuries destroyed that. If McCoy and/or Gibson comes back by Oklahoma, or by Florida at the very least I would feel more confident. But this team is just dreadful on defense right now. They actually played better than I expected oddly enough. But their inability to get off the field on third down, especially third and long is a disaster.

If we can improve on defense, somehow, some way this season I feel good about our chances. Assuming we beat Kentucky (god forbid we lose that), Oklahoma/Florida/Vandy will be the gauntlet. All three are beatable, especially with Oklahoma and Vandy at home.

We haven’t played clean and executed at a high level yet this year. We have shot our selves in the foot repeatedly. The pre snap penalties, the botched snaps, the dropped passes, the catastrophic turnovers… we need to do better. We are not playing to our potential. We’ll see if we get a game in which we can finally click and play at a high level.

Well when we get done complaining about Hypels flaws I’m sure Freeze will be available at the end of the season.

Hypel may or may not ever win it all but I’m in no hurry to go back to the way things were for 25 years before he got here

I’m not either but the Hype has got to make some staff and other changes.
