this is year 5 for Heupel's "way" and he has his savior of a QB. IMO the biggest hurdle is going from "pretty good" to "elite" and the exam begins now.

being elite means beating the toughest teams on the road (Bama)

being elite means beating your rivals no matter where the games are played (Bama and Florida)

being elite means beating upstart contenters (Vanderbilt)

being elite means taking care of business (Kentucky, New Mexico St)

Are we elite or just kinda good? As I see it the walls are closing in fast with all these teams in the SEC being so good that our window to break through and make a national statement is closing fast. Is it possible for my team to play like their hair is on fire for 6 games? can we make our first SECCG in nearly 20 years? Can Aguilar become a household name above Diego Pavia?

IMO we are on the precipice. we either fly high or fall to our death. who believe? who feels the magic? who is ready to will this team to a 1 loss season? who's with me?????

Heup has more depth across the board than ever in his tenure. He’s recruiting at a high level. He’s proven with the right pieces, especially a good Qb, his offense works. Fix the D and they can break through.

Character-Joey Aguliar over Nico and overthrow Joe as he lowered his head to get that extra inch knowing he was going to get racked and not pick up much. Yet, those other two skimp on out of bounds and, at the end of the game, knowing we needed at touchdown!

That’s the character we need! That’s the character Joey brings! VFL!

Heupel is far too phlegmatic to make the changes he needs to be elite.

Have to get a stop after the half...a pick six for us would be nice, I'm prepared for the L so I'm not getting all that upset other than that last playcall and officiating...it'll be what it'll be

College football universe is laughing out loud at Heupel's baffoonery and lampooning his call on fourth and 18 inches from the Alabama goal line, completely took his team out of the game, couple this stunt with icing his own kicker in the Georgia game, probably another loss at the swamp next month and a nail biter against Vandy, probably took his program's season to a maybe 8-4, nice trip to Jacksonville for another Tax Slayer bowl visit, I don't think Heupel has much between the ears nor common football sense anymore

If he ain’t field an elite team in year 5 he probably won’t. Love CJH glad he’s here it could be a lot worse. I remember the Dooley years and I’ll take this over that
I remember the Fulmer years and I’ll take those.

Stop it. You’re showing stupidly.
Sober up son. We are on the right track. We have the right coach and blessed to have him. GBO

What are the changes that need to be made? You seem to think you know it all.

Wow. You’re an aggressive little cuss, aintcha sparky?

He needs to bring in coaches that can recruit and develop talent who are not named Garner. Start with that. That is the one good coaching move he has made, and frankly without Garner on staff the last 2 years would have been abysmal.

Start there.

it really feels like this may be the end. Heupel can't beat Georgia he can't beat bama on the road and we will see how they do in Gainesville but right now it doesn't look good.
my fear is huepel is a good scheme guy but he doesn't know how to coach players to have elite mentality. good enough to make the honor role but never sniff being valedictorian. that was probably the the most beatable Bama team since 2009 and we blew the chance.
