KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 3/4 Tennessee soccer team earned its 12th shutout of the season after a defensive battle against Florida to finish with a 0-0 draw at Regal Stadium on Thursday night.

Tennessee (11-1-3, 5-1-2) is now one away from its single-season shutout record of 13 after gaining its third tie of the season. The previous record was set back in 2021.

Thanks to an impressive defensive effort, the Lady Vols held Florida (6-5-4, 2-2-4) to only seven shots during the game, while goalkeeper Cayden Norris picked up two saves to earn 35 on the season.

Multiple Lady Vols created offensive opportunities Thursday, with Skylar Miller attempting five shots as Devin Davis pieced together three. Kate Runyon once again created a spark off the bench and provided three shots on goal for the Big Orange at the 15th, 41st and 72nd minute marks.

Tennessee applied the pressure and controlled possession throughout the match, putting up 24 shots, outhitting Florida 24-7, but were not able to find the back of the net to round out the game. UT's final four shots of the match took place in the last 10 minutes to try and create a late rally.

The Big Orange only allowed two shots on goal in the first half, as Norris picked up both saves during the 30th and 31st minutes. The routine continued into the second, with the Lady Vols only giving up two shots during the period.

UP NEXT: Tennessee heads on the road to Vanderbilt for an in-state matchup on Sunday. Kickoff takes place at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

This week, Sarah Detwiler chats with Ally Brown — Tennessee’s senior defender and in-state star — to reflect on an unforgettable season for the Lady Vols. From upsetting the nation’s No. 1 team to climbing into the top five and posting one of the best defensive records in program history, Ally shares what’s made this year so special. She talks about the team’s chemistry, leadership, and focus as Tennessee pushes toward a championship finish and postseason play.A Tennessee native through and through, Ally also reflects on what it means to represent her home state and close out her Lady Vol career on such a high note.

Davis can get a shot off but rarely is it on net. Their goalie may a couple of nice saves and a couple of lucky ones too. Shae could put the ball in the net/and on the net a skill that is not common obviously. Jaida in her prime was that way, don't think we are using Robinson's skills effectively she needs to be around the net not far out on the wing most of the time.
