That is what the story was told in the press.

That’s not the real story. Barnes hated working under Fulmer and had multiple issues. Fulmer was gonna let him walk until Byrd stepped in.

Could you imagine. I thank Fulmer for the natty and memories but geez he not only hired the worst football coach in our history, but also let our best basketball coach walk.

I might give you a buzz, but my shower has one of those strip drains at the bottom of the bench. No way I could block it....and don't ask me how I know.

MLB is heading for a lockout in the next 2 years, that CBA has to change. So he'll be the first to ever head straight from college skipper to the show, facing Japanese Jesus & the Trillion Dollar Team within the division.

Why? I swear to God, if he doesn't pan out and ever comes back to the SEC I'll have kittens.

That’s absolutely incorrect. CTV wants to leverage the portal more and has said so on the record. He knows the teams in Omaha spent much more in the portal, and believes to win another Natty, he will need the financial commitment to obtain more portal players. As he indicated, the 2025 was “too heavy” and missing several key pieces. Title 9 means a good portion of the Rev share must go to LV Basketball and Softball. CTV asked for a higher allotment and reportedly didn’t receive it. I’d love to know the $ allocated to baseball vs softball and LV basketball…

confirmed. Barnes is on record saying he was going to UCLA but they wouldn’t pay the buyout, so he remained at TN. Really odd that he admitted that on the record.
