Hard to argue against this. The national championship may have inadvertently made the decision to leave for the Giants, easier. If that makes sense. It’s about legacy and what did you do to challenge yourself. He has already accomplished everything anyone could have imagined at Tennessee. Winning a World Series is the ultimate prize in the sport of baseball and the majority of people involved in the sport would trade a national championship for a World Series.
I’m telling you right now that if he wins a World Series he will be looked at as one of the best BASEBALL coaches, not just one of the best college baseball coaches. If I were in Tony’s shoes I would want a national championship and a World Series. Everyone upset with this are way too biased because it’s Tennessee. If this were LSU or Arkansas it would be just another story. I get it, y’all are emotional because it is fresh but none of us have the right to tell or to even think what Tony should do with his career. He accomplished what he set out to do for Tennessee. Either thank him for his services and be grateful he blessed us with his presence or wallow in misery. That’s on y’all.I can’t argue that point. Does he want his legacy to be molding young men and winning NCs along the way to being one of the best college coaches in the history of the sport? Or, does he want to take over a top MLB program and attempt to win a WS. I’m hoping it’s the former. If he chooses to stay, he’s instantly a bigger rock star than any coach on the planet….
I warned people about their online crap last year when TN lost a few games and people started posting “Anderson needs to go,” “Tony has lost it,etc.”. Our fanbase, for all its glory, is in sufferable at times.Only this fanbase would turn on a coach a year removed from a Natty because he gets an opportunity to take a major step up in his career. Lay off the bottle guys.
Notice you have to preface it with “College”. Anyone with a brain cell knows the real World Series is played in MLB. But I wouldn’t expect a Yankee fan to know the difference since it’s been so long winning one.I will put my house on the line that he won't win a MLB WS.
*and technically, it is called the COLLEGE WORLD SERIES
Man if overrated is slashing a career .302/.372/.460 with a MVP, ROY, 3 World Series rings, all while playing Gold Glove defense as a catcher, I would hate to see what an average player looks like in your book.This.
Posey was overrated as a player. And now he’s running the show. Disaster in the making.
Except NO COACH HAS EVER went from MCB to the MLB.....I’m telling you right now that if he wins a World Series he will be looked at as one of the best BASEBALL coaches, not just one of the best college baseball coaches. If I were in Tony’s shoes I would want a national championship and a World Series. Everyone upset with this are way too biased because it’s Tennessee.
