Which is, I think, one reason people fuel the douche-competition and emotion-driven backs and forths here. Perhaps at a subconscious level, feeling a lack of power and control, it allows them to feel as though they've taken it back, at least at a micro level.

I'm losing my taste for either participating in it, or observing it. It's saddening that folks here act like they are continuing discussion by calling other boot-lickers, ***/ball/genitalia-lickers, or fill in any other. ON BOTH SIDES, btw.

It saddens me to see a culture where people can take (even anonymous) pride in being that person. SMH. Common decency is apparently not common.

You're a good contributor. There are several here who stay above the dumb stuff. Only a handful provoke (either through trolling or name calling). I happen to believe those behaviors say more about them than the people they provoke.
Stick around and be part of making the board a better place.

Do either of you actually believe that this type of internet social media strutting makes you look like you're winning the "I'm the well-adjusted adult" competition?

Hey Pal, it's about to roll into the best time of the year at Tahoe-Truckee. You need to visit at the upcoming time of year for the full perspective of greatness here. Be nice if you could go out while we're there.

I don't. I am not concerned about the feelings towards me by most posters. If you read the entire exchange between us today, you would know that. There certainly is no competition in it for me.

McRib and I talk about it often. Won't be this year bc of grand baby. Next year 2 cruises. Year after trip to Italy. We hope to organize a family ski trip in 28.
You know how I cherish the place. My favorite spot on the planet.

Yeah, it's super nice, but you've got some fantastic events and trips planned over the next couple of years. I would love to have a place in southern Italy on the coast. Or somewhere in the Dolomites😊

My circle of friends are no watches. Smartphones hurt the watch market for time telling. We don’t exchange gifts, we do away basketball/football games or trips. But you’re sweet for the gesture.
