That doesn’t seem right. Surely we’ve hosted more than 12 times. We hosted more than 12 times in the 90s alone.

Nope realize we went a few years without appearances, and on top of that never been on more than 3 times in a season or hosted more than twice in a season

It’s interesting that the teams that have been on there the most have not hosted anywhere close to half of their appearances. Michigan has 61 Gamedays but only hosted a quarter of them.

For an Alabama, I can understand the disparity. Lots of conference championship games and national championship games for them. Michigan though has only had a handful of those and a few Rose Bowls in the past 30 years.
Clemson is another one in the last decade with TONS of appearances obviously but almost all away/neutral site games

Pretty wild that 98 had zero Gameday's in Knoxville.

I could care less. I quit watching after Herbstreit fake cried on tv a few years ago. I watch Big Noon Kickoff instead.

They were coming for Florida, but the university decided to “punish” ESPN for Chris Fowler’s “trailer park frenzy” comments by not allowing them to host on campus.
Hmm, I didn't know that. I didn't start following closely until 2000.

The impact of Tennessee Volunteer fans on College Gameday cannot be overstated. No, really. Vol fans are the reason they have nettings and a screen betwen the set and the crowd.

Also, trivia tidbit aside, you have to wonder how much being featured on College Gameday was a positive feedback loop for Alabama and Ohio State. Yes, they were good, but if you're getting 25%-35% more attention than the next team, seems like that might be a big help for your recruiting ...
