She has a very lucrative deal to do so. $1.5M annual endorsement compensation. Pretty sweet deal. Still needs to shave 00:00.19 to break the world record at 400m. Wishing her the best.for those of you who constantly enjoy taking threads to your level of humor I will add that this woman wears only New Balance. View attachment 782037

Well, she completely dominates the 400m hurdles and has broken her WR on numerous times. The conversation around her had been, "gee how fast could she go without the hurdles?" and I suppose she wanted to see herself. Her other race is the 400 hurdles! I’m not sure why she changed ? But she is outstanding and keeps improving! Not bad to look at either! She definitely has an athletic body and just stunning!![]()

At the 2028 Olympics, she will be 29 which, on average for sprinters, would be nearing the end of her peak performance period. She is probably building up for a 400m/400m hurdle double, with a 3rd Gold likely in the 4X 400m relay. That historic performance could be her swan song moment.
This stirred a memory. I remembered my track/football coach handing me a box of Brooks track spikes for our first meet my freshman year. I eventually got my 400 yd time down to 56.5… slowwww, even back then, but it was enough to get me on the field as a tight end!Yeah, she's incredible. She was 2.7 seconds off the 400m WR ... while competing in the 400m hurdles. It makes complete sense to me for a professional track athlete to try to stack as many WRs as possible. Once she gets the 400m WR, does she try for the "unbreakable" 800m WR? Or, more likely, does she go for gold in both the 400m & 400m hurdles at the next Olympics? Either way, SML is one of my favorite athletes of all time.
I think the 400/400H double is most likely. Her only real rival in the 400H, Femke Bol of the Netherlands, is moving up to the 800. One obvious reason is that she knows it is unlikely she will ever beat Sydney in a major competition (barring an injury or some other bizarre occurrence.Yeah, she's incredible. I had to look up that photo to confirm that it was really her, and not her half-brother, Marty McKoch!Ah, yes Marita Koch's 47.60. That is one of several women's WR that trace to East Germany's doping program. It is actually amazing that women are now getting close to those marks. Koch was one of the more obviously doped athletes. View attachment 782155
