Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Hayes says donors are financially positioned to pay the buyout, which currently sits at $21 million.

Athletic director Scott Stricklin met with a handful of influential boosters Tuesday, and was told continuing financial support depends on new direction within the football program…
Embattled Florida coach Billy Napier could be fired as soon as this weekend. One thing is certain: Napier won’t survive another loss.
Boosters are unhappy with the direction of the program. They’ve threatened to withhold financial support.

Hayes suggests that barring a spotless run to end the season, Napier will be fired before year’s end. With that being said, the university may not completely relieve him of his duties.

Florida plans to ask its fired coach for help.

“The hope is that Napier, who has a close relationship with a talented roster he built, will finish the season while Florida looks for its fifth coach since Urban Meyer resigned after the 2010 season,” Hayes writes.

No way Billy decides to finish the season. Ha ha. Fever dream of the UAA. This is not a good look at all for UF—boosters having to put pressure on the UAA to fire a coach who should have been fired last year.

If that’s the plan, Stricklan probably needs to go too.

Kinda defeats the purpose of firing him if you ask him to stay longer. Just go get your coach and when you do fire the current one. It’s not rocket science.

I hope the best they can attract is butch jones. That would be a beautiful sight to see.

That job is going to come open and Florida fans are going to get a front row seat to exactly how their program is perceived now. The UAA is one of the most dysfunctional athletic departments in the country. And corrupt! Sort of goes hand-in-hand.

Honestly, sounds like a lot of middle Tennesseans.
These celebrities have no real allegiance to any of these teams. Their allegiance is to whomever is paying them for their appearance. It is so obvious I don't understand why so many people can't comprehend that concept. Jelly Roll doesn't care who wins a football game. Fans assume everyone views things through the same lens they do.
