To be fair that’s only because sacks count against his rushing. Simpson can move and seems like our fanbase is discounting that."Not real threat as a runner."
Joey rushed for 60 yards, 12 ypc, in his last game. Ty Simpson doesn't have 60 yards rushing...for the season.
I agree. I’m mostly pointing to playing more man against Bama because Ty has feasted off of zone defense. Main thing is just win. We want things to be better on defense because we saw what it could be last year. But at the end of the day, find ways to win and that’s all that matters. Might drive us all insane but if we are winning, that’s the main goal. Whether it’s being multiple, bend don’t break, as long as we have one more point than the other team at the end then that’s all that matters!I actually agree more with your points, but the Film Guy this week did show that against AR we played more zone and when we did - while they had success against us - it took longer. Lol
So if using the bend but don't break philosophy our recent zone attempts took longer to break. Lol
We just aren't an elite defense so no one thing will make it so. I think we need to play multiple but I agree with you make it easy for guys to play faster and smarter. Whatever that is.
Watch this and it may help explain why others are saying zone.I agree. I’m mostly pointing to playing more man against Bama because Ty has feasted off of zone defense. Main thing is just win. Pour me oneA 9yr old Taylor BIB single barrel and an 8yr Stagg single barrel sounds awfully good.
What do you say @InVOLuntary @MetalVolunteer @Buddy’s Bandit![]()
I think everyone is tracking that point, but the question is can we defend them at home. To me that's what it will come down to. I expect a lot of points scored.I don't think people realize how hard it's going to be for Alabama to cover three really good WR's on Saturday. Especially when all three have the ability to beat you down field and when you have no pass rush to disrupt the QB.
Come on now. Sack up. We put too much negative stuff into the ethos. We gonna handle business like menI just hope the game doesn't unfold in a status quo way. Refs screwing us over on crucial 50/50 calls. Soft zone defense that allows Bama to dink and dunk down the field. And then a costly turnover that kills a scoring drive and flips momentum. Feels like we'll get all three, though.
All of that will happen. We'll come out on top thoughI just hope the game doesn't unfold in a status quo way. Refs screwing us over on crucial 50/50 calls. Not taking anything from Simpson, he's playing well...can move, too. I was speaking to McElroy; and, even if im taking nothing away from Simpson's game, the numbers are still the same.To be fair that’s only because sacks count against his rushing. We just need to put pressure on him but not let him scramble. He’s athletic
