Agreed. They will also use “how we won” against us since we have not dominated an opponent except lowly ETSU and UAB. Unfortunately we need UGA to keep winning to make our close L appear better. They will drop us like a stone with a 2nd L. I think we have to win out or they hold us at the back of the line and we get screwed by them taking the last conference champion ranked outside the T12 and boot us out.
Sack up and let’s win then! We are gonna go into Tuscaloosa and defy all odds Saturday night…on the road, at night, against the refs, against Bama, against 100k+…doesn’t matter because the Vols are gonna get it done!!

ONE TEAM, ONE HEARTBEAT!!!

Holy **** I like whatever you took this morning. Fired up!

you'd have thought we'd have lost already by listening to these questions on VQ pod. I get it, we may get crushed. Huep teams dojt play well on the road. But you have a Sr QB, good line and good offensive play. Huep has shown up against Bama, and we have played with Georgia.

let's go win. gotta have an aggressive game plan.

A media guy and I argued on twitter in early August. He said our offense was in trouble and our oline would regress big time. I laugh when I go back to read the exchange

This is one of the best Olines we’ve ever fielded. Tied at 8th in the country for sacks allowed and tied with Vandy for first in the SEC.

Top 25 in the country in yards per carry. 4th in the SEC

I honestly don’t think we get in the cfp at 10-2, unless a lot of dominos fall. With us struggling to beat avg arky and msu teams, and likely no real statement win (assuming we lose to bama), I think the committee will hold it against us
So ND will be 10-2, they will be in and WHO will their statement win be?

I can’t wait to hear the debate next year with the 9 game SEC schedule

Aggressive is key. If we get a lead we need to stay aggressive. No more turtling.

They act like Tennessee doesn’t have the best offense in the country. And let’s be honest, our defense is not as bad as VQ or doom and gloom VNers wanna say. We lead the league in sacks and force ton of turnovers. Just let each game play out. Ultimately, I think we care more about stats than coaches do. We’re a field goal away from being 6-0 and top 5 in the country. Winning is all that matters.

Right, I'm aware. I just have doubts that it would actually work as intended. Especially immediately upon rollout.
Even if it didn’t really work, I’d still prefer the AI Random Penalty Generator to what we have now. If, for instance, AI just called 1 out of every 10 holds as a penalty at random, there would at least be a chance that Bama would get called for having our D linemen in chokeholds while they throw 50-yard bomb TDs.

Better watch out, the spelling patrol may be out today.😉

Just did a film breakdown of Bama vs Vandy and Bama vs Georgia. Here is what I noticed. They is no full game on Missouri yet, so I didn't watch.

- Poster said Sunday that Bama doesn't run the ball well. That's true in terms of big plays. They are more of a ball control run offense that lacks explosiveness. They primarily use the run to set up play action and keep defenses honest.
- Simpson is a zone defense buster. He feasts off of zone defense. More on this next.
- Simpson only threw 3 total deep balls in both games. One was under throw but caught by Williams against Vandy (right). One was a perfect deep throw against Georgia and Williams dropped (middle). Last was a deep throw right and overthrown to Bernard. Most of Simpsons deep throws tend to be high.
- Against Vandy, the only contested throw over 10 yards was the deep ball to Williams. All other pass plays over 10 yards were wide open due to holes in the zone. Only seven throws were more than 10 yards in the air.
- Against Vandy 5 passing plays that went over 10 yards were simple dump offs or screens and all yardage after catch.
Against Georgia he only completed 6 passes that traveled in air over 10 yards. 5 of them were over the middle and many set up by scrambles.
- Against Georgia, 7 pass plays that went over 10 yards were dump off or shorts screens that led to yardage after catch.

Ty Simpson is a typical take what the defense gives you. He almost never throws where he is first looking except for screens. He typically moves LB's and Safeties out of the middle with his eyes and then attacks the middle. He leads drives late in the first half with ease against prevent defenses. He kills zones. He scrambles enough and typically on 3rd and long. He is best on balls in air over 10 yards when he is outside of the pocket. My advice to CTB:

-Don't bite on play action. Just hit the QB.
-Don't be tricked by his eyes. That is how the middle opens up.
-Do not blitz LB's. He lives in the middle. Bring corner blitzes like Miami does.
-He typically only throws outside if defense is in zone.
-We need to wrap up and not go for the big hit. That's how they killed Georgia.
-Jam the WR's all day
-DT's better get their hands up and stay in the middle. Vacating middle is a trap.
-He throws 1-2 picks a game, better catch them. Georgia let him off the hook twice.
-Their kicker sucks, so look for them to go on 4th down often. That means do NOT play soft zone on 3rd and long when they are on our side of the field. They will be looking to get 7-9 yards and go for it on 4th. Do NOT play soft zone on 2nd and long on their side of the field. He looks to get 5-7 yards to set up short 3rd downs. That is what they want.

Also, Vandy has a better defense than Georgia. Georgia had zero pressure on Simpson the entire game. Vandy had 4 sacks, and most were huge losses. If Vandy and Georgia didn't turn the ball over and just took the points (FG's) they both probably win.
Ok, watched Missouri.

- 5 total passes by Simpson traveled over 10 yards. 3 to the left and 2 to the right. The other gains of 10 or more were dump throws to RB or TE in flat.
- He lives in play action. Don't bite on it. Just get him.
- When in shotgun, he scrambles if initial read isn't there.
- Bama likes to run right
- Simpson makes best plays on roll outs following play action.
- He holds the ball too long at least 5 times a game and throws two picks waiting to be intercepted. Will we make the play? Missouri did not. One hit DL and bounced in the air to be caught by OL for 2 yard gain. Early in game he threw behind WR Brooks. DB never looked or would've picked it off. It went for 18-yard catch and one of the 5 passes over 10 years in air.
- He will exploit middle a lot. He wants LB's to vacate and the run motion to cause this. If a LB vacates, we need to bring the safety from Williams side of the field. Why Williams? Because he doesn't go over the middle. He is scared of being hit.
- Simpson is terrified of being hit. Hit him.

If that OL (Proctor) lines up in the backfield, we better bring McMurray or Boo from the outside and hit him low and very hard. He won't do it again nor will his parents allow him to risk his career. Bama only has 2 tough players on offense (Miller and Cuevas), the rest do not bring a physicality to the game. If Miller cannot go, that is an enormous blow to them.

Our defense hasn’t been great but it’s really been third downs and random busts leading to big plays. If we execute better on one third down each quarter, we start winning by two TDs.
