2026 Vols Basketball Target List

Not a very big offer list. Guess they feel like they found another one of those under the radar prospects they want to hop on before he blows up.
Yeah, not anyone we will (or should) initially get excited about. Hope for the best. Early on, those guys were wasted spots for Barnes, but his staff has done a much better job identifying undervalued talent lately, starting with ZZ.

He had a great EYBL season, and Peach Jam…he’s an inner city Chicago guard and we know Barnes loves how those guys are wired. Shot over 40% from 3 in EYBL, a guy that cost them essentially nothing and will fill out the back end of a roster in place of a guy like Grant Hurst. Hard to see that as anything but a major positive.

“The performances Clark’s put on this summer have earned him several Division I offers. Clark’s list includes Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green State, California, DePaul, Illinois, Illinois State, Loyola Chicago, Purdue Fort Wayne, SIU, St Louis, TCU, Tulsa, UIC and Western Michigan. He’s taken unofficial visits to DePaul, Loyola Chicago and St. Louis.”

I’m not against the pickup at all. With roster sizes at 15 now, we can afford to take a flyer on a culture fit with some upside.

Absolutely, not likely at all to find 15 true guys like you’d usually see take all 13, this is essentially filling what previously was walk-on’s. But getting guy who had a host of MM offers, offers from TCU & DePaul to come here as effectively a walk on is a massive W imo

Years past we’ve sat back and missed on a lot of fall targets and had to scramble a bit in spring and the portal, I love how they’ve attacked this fall, and I would presume they’re not done. In an ideal world I would think you’d like to replace numbers wise what you know for sure you’ll be losing, we have 13 and know 4 are gone for sure, that’s room for 4-6 at minimum. I think a great strategy is to try and fill or come within 1 of that number in fall, and then replace what you lose to the portal with portal adds. The portal is expensive, having to try and add 4-5 from there is tough to do as we’ve seen, I think adding 1-3 is a much better strategy.
