Tony B

Tony is kind of like Willie Martinez. A few posters on here started bashing on them and next thing you know a bunch of followers start piling on. Neither of them deserve the bad press that posters on this board give them.

Has Tony been wrong in the past?? Sure he has and he will be the first to admit it but most of the time he has pretty accurate intel.

I have been listening more and more the last year. I first listened to critique and was a little one sided from some of the negative post on here. The more I listen the more and more I have enjoyed his shows. I have listened to all the TN radio shows and sports shows. Several so called "award winning" shows. Dad burn his shows are great. They are very entertaining, they have great guest, very knowledgeable TN sport history, and very funny at times. In my opinion his show is top notch and checks a bunch of boxes for all sports and especially UT sports. I really enjoy the shows with BEANO. I just thought I would share in case some folks on here put stock into the Negative Tony B post. You may want to think for yourself. Im glad I did.
Dad burn? That's some pretty strong language for this board. You may want to tone is down or you'll be reported :) :) :) :)

Majority of people that bash on him have never listened to him or read anything he writes. I find him a little annoying to listen to, but I do read his page some. He has broken many more stories that he has whiffed on, yet majority of VN will never acknowledge that. He occasionally has some pretty good recruiting info, though much less in the NIL era.
That’s me. I bashed him so heavily after I took him for a reliable source on the ticket gouging rumor.

Still, he’s had some really great content from time to time.

Been listening to Tony B since 1998. The post game shows for football, basketball, and baseball are fantastic. The work he does with Amachi Knoxville and the hospitality pantries shows his character.

All of us should also thank him for "Schiano Sunday" and helped prevent what was about to happen.
Is there an archive to his Schiano Sunday show? I've heard about his 12 hour broadcast and I want to listen to it.

It was wild. Good, but man, Tony was lit up over it that day. You might be able to find it in his app and look through the archives. Not entirely sure, though. If not, Send him a msg or text and ask. Should find a way on his app. He would probably get back to you.

Sports Talk J for humor! Bluechip Breakdown if you appreciate a lot of content in a short amount of time and disecting the Vols and their competition inside and out with their individual match ups. The guy watches a ton of tape and speaks from a coaches perspective and not just as a fan.

Sports talk J tries to be funny, but he doesn't know a thing about football

I have been listening to Tony for 30+ years and have no plans to stop. I always tune in to his post game shows, win or lose. His style is very informal, just the way I like it. He and his guests talk just like we would sitting at a table having a drink and eating nachos.
I started listening and calling in 1994. Entertaining show and post game shows are outstanding. The podcasts are great because you can obviously listen on demand and fast forward commercials and the occasional annoying caller. He’s the dean for a reason—plus like him or not, Tony Basilio does a lot for the community and loves the Vols. GBO!

Tony is a matter of personal taste. Willie Martinez is objectively bad and has been for decades at this point.

I totally agree with all the great posts. I’ve been a long time listener regularly but not always daily.

He’s funny and quirky, but real, and most people don’t take the time to learn his personality.

Here a clean link to page. I read his blog every day! Always worth it!

“Toeee-Kneee” (in a very slow and thick country accent). “What are we gonna do about Fulmer/Dooley/Butch/Pruitt/Heupel? It’s time for a change. Why can’t we ever beat Florida?” Lol. Never stops being entertaining
