Byron Young already matching his sack total from last season doesn’t hurt either. Betting higher on Rodney Garner pupils is not fool gambling.

This is a better matchup for us. We didn’t throw a lot of looks at Arkansas and we will against Bama. I think the offense does very well. Defense needs to play with the edge they had for the second half until the last five minutes where we went prevent. They played very well for 4-5 drives in the second half straight when we got up multiple scores. If we play with that edge, don’t have self inflicted penalties, then we will win. Bama is way overhyped.

All in all pretty well. We’re helping our oldest daughter in a custody battle with her ex but I’m healthier than I’ve been since high school. Lost 35 pounds and celebrated by getting into cigars. 😉 I check in from time to time, but age has a way of calming your need to get that last point in. Never giving up on all things Orange.

Already getting annoyed with our fanbase this week, prematurely groaning about the whistle we may or may not get. Regardless of how the game is officiated, we need to be a much more disciplined team this week to win on the road. I know we are capable of it, but will we? Who knows, but that will probably be the deciding factor here. We can’t have dumb penalties, blown coverages, and dropped balls like we’ve had all season. This is absolutely a winnable game, but we’ve gotta grow up a little this week if we hope to get to 10 wins and have a shot at making the playoffs, imo.

I think we have a great shot at winning. We’re a field goal away from 6-0 right now even with a defense that’s very hot and cold. If we do lose, I still think we finish 10-2. But I want 11-1 and play for the SEC championship.

I’ve convinced myself that we’ve been holding back a bit since Georgia to not show all our cards against State and Arky on both sides of the ball, not expecting both end up as close as they were. Wishful thinking I’m sure but I’m rolling with it until Saturday proves otherwise. Heup knows the importance of the TSIO.

This 2025 defense is riddled with GREAT individual performances. As a unit, it’s disconnected. Communication? Lbs and safeties are the ones who fit it all. I assume our defense is no different. I’m not football smart enough to know if McCoy’s absence is causing us to run more zone than last year. My suspicion is yes. I HATE coaching turnovers so I don’t think he warrants getting let go, but we need some drastic improvement next year*

Yes, we need to be better on defense. Anybody arguing that our defense is consistent and strong in all aspects this season is crazy. I have not seen anybody arguing that. But that stat you just shared is not an accurate representation. When we play offense the way that we do you can't judge our defense using PPG. It's like in basketball, if we literally hold the ball for the entire possession every time we have it on offense then it might look like we are better on defense that some other teams that shoot during the first 10 seconds of the shot clock every possession. Its just not a factual representation.

That's why our line dropped quickly from Bama -12.5 to where it sits today around 8 or 7.5 (def still trending to 7.5)

The difference between the very best teams at the top (1-2 per year traditionally) and the very bottom of the league (2-4 per year traditionally) has regressed tremendously. Now everyone is really close in terms of overall talent. The portal and NIL have stretched the talent across the entire league.

I totally agree and actually think we matchup very well with this bama team, even though no one is talking like we do.

That said, I think this week is a little more important than a lot of people realize. This could be our last chance this season to beat a ranked team. A loss puts us squarely behind 2 SEC teams, minimum, in the line to make the playoffs. We would have to be perfect and not slip up against 2 teams that will be giving us their 200% best effort in the final 2 weeks of the season. There would be no room for error to even be in the discussion to make the playoffs.

Not saying the season is over with a loss this week, but it makes it where we must be perfect in the final 5 weeks. I believe we have that in us, but I’d prefer to win this week and have some wiggle room. It’s very unfortunate that we didn’t make that kick against UGA - we’d be top 5 and be waltzing into the playoffs regardless of outcome this week.

Does your Dodge have Cummins or gas? I love that body style Ford, but the Diesel swap into it would make me a little leary of potential gremlins that could be hiding from that. The 7.3 Powerstrokes were great, but might be tough to know if things were matched up properly with the engine swap into the truck there.
