Butch Jones firing next?

No to both of these. Big East was part of the Power 6 at the time. That Cincinnati team won 10 games that year and had 10 guys that went on to make NFL rosters, including Travis Kelce. Now we were at our strongest point under Dooley when we played them with Hunter, Rogers, and Bray all healthy, but you're ignoring some critical facts.
Lmao! The Big East was never a power conference in anything but basketball.

Not sure I remember there ever really being a “Power 6”. I guess the Big East was relevant in football at one time when VaTech, Miami, BC and a few others were members, but it seems like that only lasted about 10ish years and was over once they started bailing in the 2000s.
The Big East still had an automatic qualifier to a BCS bowl game. That was the year West Virginia torched Clemson in Kevin Steele's meltdown.

Soooo...he was supposed to show love for the school that fired him, or the school that hired him??
If he wanted to smoke a cigar with the coaching/support staff, that would have been acceptable. To pose for a picture with Bama players following a win that he really had nothing to do with; well, that told me quite a bit about his character (or lack of).

Butch last night had the exact same “Fake tough guy but I really I’m just frustrated and constipated” look on his face that he had in 2017. Nobody is going to respond to that.

Butch played a caricature of a big time coach but there was always a disingenuous or imposter syndrome feel to it

Butch is a decent coach and good recruiter. That’s all though. His character has been somewhat questioned by some but I don’t know him so I don’t know.
Don't know of anything that ever came out about him that would be a serious character flaw. Was always comments in here that he jerked players around making all kinds of playing time promises and stuff and then doing nothing with them. Things like that. i know a guy from NY (church people and childrens ranch people) who didn't seem to object to his son going and playing for Jones. He and his brother both played at Harding in D2 and got drafted. Harding is prob a better team at that even. Always in the palyoffs lately and was in final about 3 years ago maybe. But I guess this was his sons chance to play FBS. I don't particularly care for him, but got no reason to run him down the flag pole either.

I wasn't ignoring those facts, I was off a year. But I looked it up and you're correct...it was 2011, when UC went 10-3. They were Big East champs that year and in 2012 under Butch.

I didn't remember Kelce in that game, so I looked it up. Kelce didn't have a catch in that Tennessee game. He was coming off a suspension year and converting to TE, so he wasn't really a factor for them that year (13 catches on the year). He blew up the following year as a senior.

My guess unless they lose out or only win 1 more he might be in trouble, but pulling out the last 2 wins probably bought some time. If they finish 5-7 he's probably back for 1 more season.
There are a couple a money grab games where a L is expected for teams like Arkansas State so their overall record is never as bad as it looks when that is factored in. They agreed to the Iowa State and Arkansas Razorback games to make money for their AD. Butch got a new contract after going to 2 straight bowl games but his record is nowhere near his predecessors

Yes, they had 2 guaranteed losses on their schedule. Many teams at that level do schedule games for the money,

I seem to remember both Jones and Bielema trash talking a bit during SEC media days one year. It didn’t turn out well for either of them as Saban had the last laugh.

He was supposed to show respect to the athletes he recruited, he could be happy for his new team , but lighting up cigars is just douche baggery.
